Mafia / Re: Beginner's Mafia LVIII: Game Over, Town Win
« on: February 11, 2016, 08:42:13 pm »
Well, I should give my thoughts.

Mafia is a hard game that demands a lot of investment from you. It can also be quite stressful. Now that school is picking up it will probably be a while before I play another game. I need a break.

You were applying yourself, just some of what you were voting people for wasn't the greatest reasoning. Experience will get you past that, I did similar things in my first game.

Hopefully you're not out of it for too long!

I still don't like this.

It's flavour, it's meaningless. What will it tell you?

Tomasque:But...Whaaa?  Asking for role names is practically a standard thing!

Roles, yes, role names? Not really.

There was also the issue with secret autos in the last game, so... yeah.

The only issue I have with revealing who I targeted is that it might allow that person to divine what roles certain people have, so I'd rather wait until after you tell us your theory.

I dunno, sounds like he's at the very end to me.

Nope. He's at the boss fight, shit tons more after that if he wanders about. Which he should.

There's also a reason I haven't started a genocide run yet too.

Well the conversation regarding certain swear words hasn't quite properly ended, so I shall throw in my two pennies.

Being from Scotland, I tend to overuse many, many offensive words, to the point that I (used to, 'cause I live in 'murrica now) compliment people with them.

In the words of the divisive comedian Frankie Boyle (don't look 'im up)

Quote from: Frankie Boyle
He just called me a cunt!

Aye, but he called you a good cunt.

PPE: also what Bauglir said. If folk find worth in helping you, who are you to turn them away?
Explaining the justification I have is something personal, and there are only two people here I'm willing to speak to about personal things. I have an excellent reason to keep the intervention of others at a minimum.

That's fine, and I'm sure you do. Perhaps these people have excellent reasons to intervene too, though. Just something to consider, prob'ly. Or maybe not, as Bauglir said, I won't pry further beyond HERETAKETHEADVICEYOUDIDN'TASKFOR.
Advice is good, no point in being deliberately ignorant and turning it down. I never said anything about advice.

I know. I mean we (me) are offering advice on your situation that we know little about, that you didn't explicitly ask for.

Question though: what's the difference between advice and help?

I think the question was "why do 'doner kebabs/gyros' lead to an asskicking?".

Pretty sure the answer is because you insulted their food.

But what was the insult? :'(

PPE:
You forgot the Welsh.
The English assimilated them.

I guess you're lucky NZ is on 't other side of the world from Wales then :P

Though Wales does share the particular wooly ruminant based stereotype as NZ, you'd probably get along :))
Wouldn't they just wind up violently feuding over romantic rivalries?

No idea. Both nations are so insignificant I know nothing of temperament

Oh, just run-of-the-mill national rivalry. Turkey and Greece kind of can't stand each other.
Like Scots and English, or Scots and Irish, or Scots and other Scots.
Damn Scots! They ruined Scotland!
Dem's fightin' words, pal. Let's gang up on England, see who can kick the most arse.

hector13: Ahh ok, you're talking doner kebabs. Or gyros, as we'd call it here.
Make that claim around here and you'll briefly accomplish what is usuallly thought to be impossible: Perfect harmony between Turks and Greeks, because they're united in their goal of whipping your ass.

Why? :o

Well yeah, I know that. Why would they both want to whip RK's ass? Should maybe have been a bit more specific in my question, sorry heh.
