I evidently fear significant violence as a consequence of this.

Retail can be hit or miss. I’ve worked with some excellent people, and some horrible people, the “highlight” being asked about my future with the company the day after my grandmother’s funeral, and it being patently obvious I wasn’t interested in the future of the company since I’d made it clear I was in the process of leaving the country for months prior.

You need evidence if you’re going to take someone to court though, and I don’t think you’re going to get any from this lot unless they write things down for you.

T’be fair I’d have been looking for a new job long before now if I were in your current situation. If you live in an at will employment state you can ghost them, but that’s usually not a wise decision as future employers might get in touch with them, assuming you put that in your résumé.

CKIII. I carefully cultivated an incredibly inbred branch of the family (multiple wives, incest allowed). The resultant beings were... not well-adjusted to life.

I then aggressively married them into every house which opposed me.

.... I feel the Geneva convention should cover this.

Inbreeding is the only way (easiest way?) to get the Pure Blooded trait. I think that’s what it a called… gives resistance to getting negative congenital traits, which means you can breed your Genius, Herculean, Beautiful, Fecund family with less fear of getting Imbeciles.

Of course you could also just have a big enough family tree that marrying distant parts of it gets the same result, but really, that takes effort.

Pretty sure there have been issues with it before, so Toady might just nip it in the bud if people can’t maintain chill.

Star Wars is also in a galaxy far, far away.

Which leads to the question, how the fuck did humans get there?

I think the better question might be how did they get here?

Referenda generally don’t have any legal power. Brexit could have been ignored without fear of legal reprisals.

Oh you didn’t know? Sandy Hook was a hoax perpetrated by… the government? *shrug* Them, I guess, using crisis actors.

People are good at co-opting any kind of religion to suit their world view though.

I imagine the response to this will be thoughts and prayers, let’s do gun reform, muh second amendment, they’re trying to take my guns away, and ultimately nothing changing until the next school shooting when we go through it again.

I assume that Swedes just always wear goggles everywhere, all the time.

Spoiler: could not resist (click to show/hide)

Just ‘cause it’s in the constitution, doesn’t make it the correct course of action.

I think a significant reason Macron has been elected twice is because his opponent both times was Marine Le Pen. If you have a choice between a slavering lunatic and almost anything else, you’ll vote for almost anything else.

1587
Probably something to do with Macron thinking he’s a god and he doesn’t need support as a result else he’ll just LIGHTNING BOLT every obstinate motherfucker.

Or ignore them. Pretty sure that was his course of action with the yellow jackets a whole back.

"If 99% of people find you unattractive, that means 79 million people find you attractive."

It is not, in fact, a small world after all

There is potential to find these 79 million people, so it is, at least relative to pre-global communication/travel.

I think it’s the manner it happened rather than it happening. Macron decided to forego a vote and just force it through using article 49:3 of the constitution. A bit risky since the only way to force that to fail is for the government to lose a no confidence vote, but they survived that. This was partly because the opposition is allowed to (and I’m pretty sure actually did) tabke thousands of amendments to controversial bills so they basically have no chance of passing.

If Macron instead opted to try to convince people this was the best course of action, maybe people wouldn’t be protesting.

I’m not sure it would be fair on others as baby appears to be in a phase (hopefully just a phase!) of allowing me <5 hours of sleep in any given 24 hour period, so my activity will be basically minimal.
