General Discussion / Re: Things that made you go "WTF?" today o_O
« on: March 07, 2023, 09:48:20 am »
So 'Snakes' clitoris' is obviously grammatically incorrect.

But this raises a question which philosophers will doubtless ponder for generations. What is the plural of clitoris? Clitorises? Clitori? Clitoren?

((Autocorrect suggests 'clitorises' is correct, but autocorrect is no fun))

Funny, I had a similar discussion just the other week. I think the dictionary result was 'clitorides.'

Sounds like a particularly lewd Greek.

I had a horrific night last night, goodness me. My wife had some sort of stomach bug over the weekend, presumably viral because she was sore, and I thought to myself yesterday that it appeared as though I avoided it.

No such luck. We had leftover Chinese food, I ate that and needed to go to the bathroom a few times for what I was expecting to be extra watery goodness, but nah. Then I had a big chug of water which was apparently 100% the wrong move and had a stupendously violent vomiting fit, but as that usually goes felt pretty good after it was done.

I usually stay up for a bit at night to look after our kid if he needs anything, but was just getting really sore, and went to bed at around 12.30am.

Between then and 2am, I got up four times for some more vomiting and pooping sessions, expelling less and less but also not being sure which end I might be expelling things from. The partially-digested Chinese food gave everything an oddly pleasant curry aroma.

The final session involved a great deal of dry heaving so I ended up just sitting on the toilet thinking “dude there is nothing left” before one of the big spasms resulted in a magnificent spray of diarrhea into the bowl, followed by vomiting out the last contents of my digestive system, some think yellow bile.

Spent the remainder of the night waking up frequently because I was dehydrated, worrying about not being able to keep water down, being unbelievably sore when I moved, and having hot and cold flashes.

0/10, would not recommend. I am glad today is my wife’s day off.

We seem to be getting a single-file procession of buffoons trying to suggest Ukraine is at fault for being invaded and it is getting quite silly.
...
Red Diamond, Kamamura, and who?

Some weird-ass whose name escapes me, but he was posting nonsense in here and Ameripol. Made a single appearance supporting Diamond at one point and hasn’t been back since as far as I can tell

Hi Red Diamond. Long time no see.

More or less what I thought.

We seem to be getting a single-file procession of buffoons trying to suggest Ukraine is at fault for being invaded and it is getting quite silly.

But yeah RD, don’t be flying off the handle at it. If it is a troll that’s what they want, if it isn’t it’s not going to make them any more receptive to being better informed about things. Just gotta whack the moles as they pop up and make sure the facts are at the forefront of our arguments.

Why didn't motivated pyromaniacs burn literally everything over 2 million years? Makes no sense.
You act as if it's easy to set fire to everything, you do know some things don't burn right?
Well, not with that attitude, mate.

1655
Call your mum, your liberation from her body probably ruined her.

1656
When you say “shit doesn’t change”, what is it that’s not changing?

1657
It gets worse the more I read into it.

The cops said he jumped out the car at a news conference at the scene, when he was actually pulled from the car. The two officers involved left him to die in front of his mother and kids being picked up because they were too scared to apply first aid for the three minutes it took firefighters to show up. Cops were justified according to the local DA because they feared for their life (akin to other bullshit stock justifications like “I thought I smelled weed” or “they stopped too long/not enough at a stop sign”). They treat the guy that completely fucked up the situation that resulted in a man’s death like a hero by giving him a medal.

Situation’s completely fucked.

1658
The conclusion that the police officer could have dealt with the situation in such a way that it didn’t result in a death?

1659
T’be fair, given Putin’s background as an intelligence agent and the fact we’re getting to the end of Winter, and Russia’s failure to roflstomp an “inferior” (by military strength) nation, it would not surprise me if it was a false flag operation to engender further support from the Russian populace.

1660
So these are things that warrant extrajudicial brutality alongside the risk of death to you. I wouldn't agree even a little, but it's a position you can take.

Nope, and you're being intentionally obtuse. I wouldn't agree, but that is a position you can take.

Yeah. Seems like many people in USA come up with alternative facts for their political notion of greater good.

What alternative facts?

The guy got killed for making a mistake, being honest about prior interactions with police, and taking medication. The cop may not have known the guy was taking medication rather than destroying evidence or taking narcotics, but it does not justify the significant escalation of his actions, nor their results.

I have a 1GB graphics chip that works fine for me, but I don’t like games with super graphics, generally.

It struggles a bit with CKIII in the court bit, but it still works, and I don’t care for the court stuff anyway so I don’t generally go on that screen heh.

Signal: If UK Government Undermines Encryption It Can Kiss Messaging Service Used By Its Employees Goodbye

Not directly related by being the same app but fun stuff nonetheless

How goes that Internet Safety Bill? Haven't looked at what's been going on with that lately. I remain advising to not fuck up the internet with short sighted plans pushed by incompetent people with an agenda of controlling legal speech. You should probably leave internet regulation to people who didn't refuse to adopt new technology until a pandemic sat them on their ass for a while. This is because with things like gutting section 230 in the US these people are not aware of obvious flaws such as what is known in internet terms as "raiding" a site a herd of cats aware of how to camoflauge IP disagrees with.

In defense of law makers and politicians everywhere, they need to create new laws to embarrass themselves. Why are so many IP addresses on PornHub linked to Westminster?

MPs looking at tractors.

Edit: As to what’s happening, Matt Hancock deserves everything he gets. He is one of the most contemptible politicians out there, and considering the contenders for that title in his party, that’s saying something.

Even putting that to the side, even protected by an NDA, why he gave all of his messages to a journalist that was anti-lockdown to write your memoirs is an utterly imbecilic move. Evidently he couldn’t see past the dollar signs in his eyes.

I think part of the problem will be many folks expecting KSP1+ from an early access sequel. I think people don’t realize that early access means getting a game that’s still in development, rather than getting a full game before anyone else.
