Life Advice / Re: The Generic Computer Advice Thread
« on: February 03, 2023, 09:39:00 am »
That sounds like complicated computer magic.

In saying that my D: drive has in total ~1TB but I think there’s only 300-odd GB of space left, whereas the C: drive is 120GB and is basically full, so I’m not sure the steps you suggest would work if I’m reading them correctly.

I might just have to buy a new SSD, clone the C: drive to that, and then format the old one for extra storage, or otherwise keep it as a backup, and just copy the important non-system files onto the D: drive so my wife doesn’t kill me.

Ah well, thanks for the help and walking me through things Starver, with the very limited information I gave you to begin with.

There’s the whole infinite monkeys and typewriters and Shakespeare thing.

I’m.l not sure the world needs infinite Zultan’s though. I’m pretty sure he’s the bad guy in Hawk The Slayer.

That’s what I’ve been saying! At least entertain us if you’re going to be an idiot.

You were down in that one game. Then got hounded to death because you asked how long ago we played a particular game.

I was genuinely furious about that, despite being scum.

You’ll always panic at the end of the day.

ehr mah gehrd.

I have a tiny SSD with my Windows install on it that is incessantly running out of space.

I did a teensy bit of reading and cloning the drive to my D drive, which is much bigger though is a hybrid SSD, seems to be my cheapest option currently, with a partition or something.

I imagine some of you may know better however, so... advice I guess on steps to take and what I may need to take them.

Cool beans, thanks.

What kind of a "democrat" could reject the plebicite?

RD probably does not want my endorsement, but the fact is that he is right. Everyone, including the Ukrainian government, agreed that when the guy from our church was killed in Donetsk, it was the Azov battalion that was responsible. They promised to prosecute. And yet...

Yep, I get that most people, from any side, cannot help but base their opinions on confirmation bias. So mostly we are probably going to have to eventually accepting that reality displaces fantasy, no matter how many people have to die.

You were told to come back with interesting conspiracies, I rate this 2/10 trolling.

So what’s the thing called that allows you to claim free games from Epic without actually having their launcher?

City of Gangsters is possibly the game I have been waiting years for.

I think training is part of the problem. Cops are taught that a traffic stop is one of the most dangerous things they’ll encounter, plus the whole killology nonsense where they’re taught that killing someone is not a last resort.

Pfft mafia is more important than schoolwork anyway. Who needs good grades? Just stack shelves for minimum wage, you’ll probably be alright.

We’re sensible enough around here to call people out in their bullshit; any views based on utter nonsense don’t tend to stick around long,

It’s just like the last guy who seems to be unable to consider how their arguments apply to their position. “Legal fictions” also apply to the authority of the “government of Donbas and Luhansk”, and quite frankly the logical conclusion of their arguments is that all authority everywhere in the world is a “legal fiction” and thus can be ignored by anyone. It would be interesting if the varied and sundry regional independence movements around the globe decided to take this position, but it’s unworkable in reality.

As Starver said, it’s basically the Sovereign Citizen nonsense writ large, and consequently as ridiculous as those positions.

But yeah, banning someone for idiocy is no bueno.

Undertale has a non-combat way of playing, and there’s a game called Alpha Protocol in which a significant component of the game involves manipulating characters through dialogue.

I recall putting my created boxer who was in the smallest weight class up against Muhammad Ali in one of those games. I managed to go to the last round before getting knocked down, but by that point my boxer was knackered and I couldn’t get the images of the ref together and got counted out.

There was an easy way to cheese the game though, I think you could constantly do this weird ducking/weaving move that didn’t use much stamina, and counter punches did extra damage, so if your opponent happened to throw a punch while you were doing that, you could take them down right quick.
