DF Adventure Mode Discussion / Re: Revenge on someone who ambushes you?

Well you could look for him yourself, chances are that'd take forever though.

You would probably be able to get a quest for killing the dude from a town nearby to where you were killed though, if you happen to remember where that was. You'd probably be able to find where you were killed in your legends page, and then if you go to the [Q]uests page on a new adventurer you can look for the area you were killed from one of the letter tab things from the top right bit heh.

That's not too bad.

I once had a pretty decent adventurer get shot in the eye with an arrow, made him half blind  :-\

Didn't stop him killing a few hydras, dragons and other assorted megabeasties though :o

Had a tiny scar on his eye until he died horribly at the hands of something insignificant, most likely. (mainly because I can't remember how he got killed)

DF Adventure Mode Discussion / Re: how do i kill bronze colossus?

I'm of the impression that you generally need to 'beat' things like collossi to death.

I remember the first time I came up against a collossus, I had a sword of some variety (I'm somewhat certain it was iron) and it didn't seem to actually do anything. I was lucky enough to find a steel pick which I used to fracture its head several times until the severed part sailed off in an arc!

Bear in mind that took frickin' ages though...

Edit: wrong shade of blue  :-\

Can you... not change the key settings for different things?

I was under the impression you could. Though I haven't actually 'checked' as such, I have a keypad  :o

DF Adventure Mode Discussion / Re: Persistent Infections

I had a similar one.

Nose and ear cartillage (sp?) smashed apart, infected, right thumb smashed apart, infected.

Survived several solo megabeast and semi-megabeast fights, at least until I got my left hand scratched off by a Titan and then had my head kicked in by a wrestler.

Anti-climax:1

Iron Maiden, Ides of March:

Particularly good for mega-beast fights, mainly because they last long enough to get to the good bit heh.

Flash of the Blade is another good one:

Best thing I've found so far was a steel pick.

Not particularly useful overall, but I was fighting a bronze collosus solo at the time...

DF Adventure Mode Discussion / Re: Kinesthetic sense?
« on: November 20, 2010, 06:57:41 pm »
I've always thought that kinesthetic sense was your ability to know where your body was and how easily it is for you to move it. For example, moving away from a hammer to make it easier to parry, block or miss your face.

Basically, from my experience, there are only a few attributes that influence adventurer mode just now, being strength, agility, toughness, endurance, spatial sense and kinesthetic sense. (I might be missing one or two there, those are just off the top of my head)
