I am watching Only Murders in the Building on Hulu, and am enjoying it so far.

There is one episode which focuses on a deaf character, and there is no sound (bits of incidental music) which I thought was pretty cool.

Also very funny in that it’s following them surreptitiously lip reading other people and that section ends with them turning to the camera and signing “everyone in this city talks too fucking much”, but you might expect that from Steve Martin and Martin Short.

There does seem to be a bit of an odd element of a comedian of a historically oppressed demographic taking aim at a contemporaneously oppressed demographic.

Like… I feel like he should know better but that also seems a bit of a racist thought to have.

I used to drive past the Kellog's factory in Muncy, PA.  The air smelled like pop tarts for around a mile, sometimes more if the wind was blowing just so.

I live in a town with a Kraft factory. The smell of burnt mac and cheese is usually the smell, which is not pleasant.

I also used to live in Edinburgh, and there’s a brewery (probably more than one to be fair) the smell of which I hated as a child, but I once had to get a replacement bus service when I was more inclined to imbibe which drove near it and omg the smell was amazing.

I really don’t like Paul WS Anderson movies because they tend to have braindead characters in them, and I don’t mean the zombies.

I think I had some level of enjoyment for the first two RE movies despite this, but when the start of the third has a big group in a hugely armored school bus, they stop at a motel for supplies, send only two of their number in who then immediately split up, one of them gets attacked and bitten by a zombie and fails to inform anyone despite the knowledge he’s putting everyone at risk, the other guy doesn’t go “hey you’re looking a bit winded, you good?” when they meet up again, it means my suspension of disbelief has been shaken to pieces already and I need to watch something with more sensible people.

I never encountered wheat thins until I moved to the US.

Can’t say I was particularly unsettled by that seeing as they put sugar in it for some ungodly reason.

What's the temperature inside your house? Because at midnight last night the coldest room in my house was 28c (downstairs living room). And you can feel when you hit the wall of heat that's above that when you go upstairs.

Pretty constant 25-26C at night time. It was 22 outside at 3am for some reason.

But yeah, to keep the house cooler you need to keep the windows and curtains shut o the side of the house the sun is on, only open the windows when the outside is cooler than the inside, which usually means at night, and try to get a cross breeze going to actually move the warm air out. A window fan is useful for this if you have one.
