Again with the naïveté!

When the police start asking someone to stop filming, that becomes police activity through any sort of handwavey bullshit because it’s a crime to refuse.

“I didn’t have a tape measure on me so I eyeballed it as 8ft so I asked them to stop filming. I may have misjudged in the heat of the moment.”

This absolutely will be abused by the police force to conceal any form of abuse on their part.
This absolutely will be abused by some members of the police force to conceal any form of abuse on their part. How often do you think those specific officers will be able to get away with it?

The officer needs to make a verbal warning about the video being prohibited within 8 feet. Backing up to 12 foot is all the observer needs to do as they continue recording. It is all the observer should do.... They will still get a video as good as Darnella Frazier's.

Whether or not the person videoing moves is irrelevant. The officer can say they moved but were still within 8ft of the action which means they can be arrested, and that means whatever they were recording with is confiscated. It will somehow end up in a million pieces as a consequence, or in some other condition in which the video is irretrievable.

So, to answer your question: much more than they should be able to get away with it. The police are human, but they’re meant to be the best of us and should be held to the highest possible standard. This law is meant to prevent that, because the ones who will abuse it are the ones who don’t/won’t/can’t meet that standard.

Yeah there is the whole being in a big field and three rounds of combat away from safety assuming you survive having to stand still and throw your fire bomb thing.

Isn’t gravy rather specifically made from the juices of meat?

Yeah, the Beeb have reported that the police are saying the assailant killed Abe ‘cause he thought Abe was affiliated with the group that took all his mum’s stuff, and also that he was a member of the maritime JDF, plus the various homemade weapons he had when his house was searched.

If someone wants to assault a police officer, given the prevalence of firearms, 8ft/15ft/100ft won’t stop them.

Your presence will always be felt here, dude.

Mostly because you broke every thread you posted in :p

It is good things are moving in the right direction for you though. Hopefully you don’t get your toenails kicked off incessantly.

No media exceptions there bud. The cops move within 8ft of a journo and ask them to stop filming, refusing is a misdemeanor, and you can have whatever you’re filming with confiscated.

Don’t be so naive.

It is about protecting the police though. Derek Chauvin was videoed by a 17 year old, Chauvin was convicted of the murder and violation of the civil rights of George Floyd. If there was a law like this in Minnesota, that doesn’t happen.

Rishi Sunak appears to be favourite to win, he who was fined along with Boris for Covid breaches, and he whose very wealthy wife has (had?) non-dom tax status, despite being married to a government minister.

+1 on the ending the relationship stuff. It’s hard to make the decision, it’ll suck doing the decision, and your brain will remember the good stuff you’re losing, but it’s the right decision.

Arizona hates free speech, at least as it pertains to monitoring the police.

A lot of his wealth is shares in companies. If he sells them, their price goes down, which tanks their - and his - value. He will need to sell a lot of shares to get that $44bn.

He is also vastly over-valuing Twitter shares, so he’s unlikely to ever recoup the wealth he uses, at least in terms of the Twitter stock price.

Presumably anyway.
