Hey guys what's the protocol if there are a very large group of people outside your neighbors house (sounds like a party of some kind i hear music) shouting sexist and homophobic slurs

You should go out and tell them that you’re going to tell their mothers’ if they don’t apologize immediately.

Alternatively, if they’re doing so in the street (particularly to passers by) call your local PD (not 911) and let them know. I had this happen to me when I was a youth, across the road from my house. Didn’t think I was making that much noise with a small group of people, but apparently one of my neighbours disagreed *shrug*

As long as the tone is relatively steady and not too loud you should be able to tune it out as white noise.

You could get some earplugs, otherwise.

After we run out of actual letters from alphabets in about a few hundred thousand years' time (and this is after we've run out of CJK characters, among other scripts), are we going to resort to random symbols that Unicode has, like "⌱", "⩐", and "⍲"?

I like your optimism that the human race is actually going to survive that long.

Uh, those are illegal

Apparently not so illegal that I get it replaced at someone else’s expense.

My city is giving a grant to replace it, but the one company we got an estimate from is twice as much, and told us we need to remove a relatively small tree prior to any work, and they won’t replace the sidewalk they remove either so those two things will add hopefully less than a grand to the cost and they offer financing which is allegedly 0% but really isn’t.

Plus we just spent mucho pennies on getting gutters put on the house.

Bleurgh.

Do your schools do summer holidays for school pupils, and if so, how many weeks of schooling are left until then? 'cause it only makes sense to go back to school at this point if there aren't weeks/months of non-schooling happening in like, a month.
