The first precept of faith, as far as I understand, is that GOD is GOOD.

Modern international law and standards say that Torture is BAD.

Ergo, any religion that has to threaten its followers with torture is FAKE, because GOD is GOOD and Torture is BAD.

That, or modern international law is FAKE and Torture is GOOD.

Only with consent and a safe word ;)

Just like there are many kinds of people, there should also be many kinds of God, so that each person can worship the version of God with which they are most compatible.  This allows a lot.

I know this is not a popular opinion in a post-modern world, but I think it's an illogical view that there can be as many "gods" as there are opinions. A deity (or several), if it (they) exist(s), would be independent of opinions.

How do you know an opinion held doesn’t influence a deity’s existence, a la Small Gods?

That’s what you get with a conservative government for over a decade.

If we're talking healthcare for what is basically an arbitrary group of people, why not just healthcare for all at that point?

COMMUNIST

Never mind that every other developed nation on earth has some form of state paid healthcare, they’re all communist.

7,150 healthy people die each year due to medical mistakes. That's more than seven times the number shot by cops, and over one hundred times those unarmed shot by cops. Maybe you'd like to call for them to face justice, too?

Literally yes, you slug.

Defund the hospitals! Abolish doctors!

Doctors are usually kept to their specific branch of medicine, whereas cops appear to be expected (and are woefully under equipped) to deal with things that would be better dealt with by a social or mental health worker rather than someone with a gun.

That’s what defunding the police should mean: taking money away from militarizing them further and giving it to agencies that can do aspects of their job better than they can.

They probably value your patronage more than your ability to speak their own language.

“Your money spends just as well regardless of your ability to make a fool of yourself.”

At least if you do make a fool of yourself you get good food out of the bargain, as well as warm fuzzies for supporting local business.

Pretty sure ms is in college already.

They (presuming pronouns, apologies if wrong) just live in a very conservative country, so that’s presumably why they’re doing this kind of thing in a higher learning establishment: make sure they’re sticking to prescribed doctrine.

I would’ve liked some kind of gifted class or something in my school. I was too clever for my own good, never needed to study, breezed through homework the night before it was due. Didn’t actually learn how to learn or study or anything which would have actually been useful to my existence beyond school.

So you named your horse “horse”?

We should could you Bowen.

You can’t even grammar though.

I'm concerned about the AI's ability to appeal to women :V what is the most badass way that it can pass the Turing test for maximum feminine appeal

The non-stated assumption being that a huge, general group of people are know-nothings?

I think nenjin was referring to a very specific brand of conservative.

I’m usually trying to be smooth if I’m doing something like aiming, but when it comes to movement it’s much less fine.
