Yes. You said it was already paid for. It’s not already paid for if they’re still being paid. If it was already paid for, these costs would have been accounted for already, because they’d be the same regardless of whether they were working or not.

The wall construction hasn’t been paid for, else extra costs wouldn’t be incurred for machines sitting idle, ‘cause the contractors would already have been compensated for their costs, surely?

(don’t call me Shirley)

Like, I’m struggling to see why this is noteworthy. Is it just because of the way a two party system works that when one party takes a stance on a contentious issue the other party is assumed to have the opposite stance? ‘cause the wall (or whatever you want to call it) is there. It needs to be maintained. It costs money to do that.

Trump’s BS about the wall was just that. It was a vanity project. It’s not like the wall is 10 miles tall to stop planes flying over it, or circumnavigated the globe so people can’t just go round the god damn thing, or just boat across the giant river between Mexico and the US, or even tunnel under it.

But yeah, Biden will be critcised by the Republicans for FAILINGATBORDERSECURITY if he doesn’t build the wall or WASTINGTAXPAYERSMONEY if he cancels the contracts or WHATAHYPOCRITE if he does anything which looks like it might possibly look like construction of a barrier on the border.

Of all the things I might think the frogs would be eating, that did not enter consideration.

Das harsh, man.

Maybe on Monday when OLD MAN DIED! is still in the goddamn news I’ll feel differently, but atm, harsh.

Pretty sure the UK has been waiting 12 weeks between doses since they started vaccinating.

Nintendo has been the kids console since the NES though. One of the marketing things about the Mega Drive/Genesis was to target older kids who may have had younger siblings in order to tempt them over to the other side.

This is also part of the reason Mortal Kombat was such a big deal on the Nintendo console, and the Nintendo version didn’t have blood in it.

Awww ninja’d :(

slut is a gender neutral term of endearment
Amongst equal friends perhaps, much in the same way that one could call one's best mate a fuckface but you wouldn't greet a stranger as so without expecting great insult to be incurred
It’s not really gender neutral either. Promiscuity among females is still viewed pretty universally poorly, whereas the inverse is true for promiscuous males.

I got three and a half weeks off work with covid, though!

It was a horrible three weeks and I didn’t regain my sense of smell and taste for another month afterward... but, uh... uh...

Yeah.

Ah, finally! A tool to protect me from hearing British people talk about cigarettes!

Speech recognition software doesn’t work so good with British accents so you’ll still have to deal with it anyway.

"Alright boys, no problem about paying you, we just have to go and earn it first. I think we can carve ourselves out a nice piece of Jacksonville, it just so happens I have myself a little nest egg in those parts..."

Once in Jacksonville, make our way to the submarine. Look out for a few places interested in some naval history, ask, subtly, if they know anyone interested in purchasing some torpedoes.

If we manage to find someone interested, sell some torpedoes! Enough to buy a bar fit for a musical kingpin, and fit it up nicely into a base of operations, and weapons to outfit the beginnings of my crew.

Also continue our little charming music routine and attempt to recruit a few more heavies to my side.

Also look out for bars frequented by local law enforcement. Encourage them to look the other way when my guys eventually start doing crime and such. There will be a lot of it. Should this fail, use The Serpent to escape unmolested.

((How do you intend for The Serpent to work, by the way? Just complete invisibility, bonuses to stealth and such like?))

((Oh that’s apparently only a 2 hour drive... as an aside, am I able to adequately operate my submarine, or would that require employing some trained personnel?

If not, would I be able to sell the submarine, either whole or in part?

Well I say if not; would I be able to sell the submarine regardless of my ability to operate it?))

But billiard balls don’t float, scriver.

Wait wait wait.

It sounds like you’re building rather than digging.
