If people cared less about things we'd all be better off.

I'd say that if people cared less about things we'd all be far worse off

Less about things, more about people?

People are things though.

Aren’t you all aware you’re merely part of my solipsistic fever dream?

There are various everyday phrases that are related to suspicions of homosexuality or the practice thereof.

Down-low, for example, refers to an outwardly heterosexual man who sleeps with other men.

Is it bad that I read Reelya’s summary of the article and thought it was a real thing that a conservative media commentator might write until I scrolled up and was very happy to see it was only Donald Trump failing to understand satire?

Domald Tromp Pounded in the Butt by His Fabricated Wiretapping Scandal Made Up to Redirect Focus Away from His Seemingly Endless Unethical Connections to Russia

It’s a bit on the nose.

Fakedit: Domald Tromp Jr. Slammed in the Butt by his Secret Russian Meetings and the Grossly Incompetent Cover Up Shortly Thereafter

he’s not even trying.

Proper edit to close the brackets properly.

Ok, you're promoted to "Test Subject A".
Fuck yeah, I'm no longer Test Subject B

Finally moving up in the world

Unfortunately they sort Test Subjects in hexadecimal.

Yoink is not referring to that kind of trip.

+1 on the RedKing appreciation, thanks for the effort.

According to a Beeb article I read a while back, it seems less likely to be covid with aches and/or sore throats, though it doesn’t rule it out.

Apparently the loss of taste/smell is a super common symptom though.

Hopefully all is good though, I don’t think anyone needs the extra worry.

Why would you name your footwear store after a fungal infection that primarily affects the part of the body for which you’re selling accoutrements? Madness.

Though if it was a public shower, wearing your shoes isn’t a bad idea to avoid actually getting it... so long as you washed the shoes and let them dry out proper afterward.

My only issue is their strategy for helping the poor. A cash injection, no matter how big (or small) just isn't the answer.

Then consider the concept of velocity of money. A thousand dollars in a low income households is basically a thousand dollars straight into the economy.

While I am 1000% on board with this line of thinking, I think what Dwarfy means is that the money doesn’t fix the problems that resulted in needing the cash injection in the first place.

I really wish I 'understood' Chinese food. I'm a picky eater, but the biggest gripe I have with it is that I never know what the items on the menu are supposed to actually mean. Last time I got Chinese on a friend's strong recommendation, I chose steak. Just steak, I thought it was a safe choice. What I got was steak chopped into pieces with roughly 3 green peppers worth of diced peppers piled on top, with some eggrolls that had some odd vegetable I'd never seen before added in. Like, was I supposed to know that this was what the menu meant?  I hated it, and left it mostly uneaten.

Yeah Chinese food can be hit or miss. I’ve also discovered that Chinese restaurants in ‘murrica aren’t as good as the ones from my part of the UK, though I may have just been unlucky in that respect as I have found a Chinese restaurant (also does sushi) in my new town which has the most delightful kung pao fish (and tofu!) as well as doing very tasty fried rice.

They do weird shit to their crab rangoons though. Spring onions I think.

My wife cuts them up into little bite size squares and does magic to them, presumably involving salt, pepper, olive oil, and grated Parmesan cheese, then I think she cooks it in the oven at 425oF for 20 minutes.

That will take care of 1 butternut squash.

My age is right in my profile, but my birthday in the system is not.

It also kinda pains me to see 1990s and think “oh those people are only teena- ah fuck.”

There are 1,214 other people running, so I guess it’s not out of the question.
