in a bottle

Maths in a bottle or awoo in a bottle?

In a bottle?

Bottle is no longer a word.

Some people would be better off wiggling forward, wiggling backward, and occasionally fucking themselves instead of giving voice to their thoughts.

Or maybe at least pausing for a moment to consider whether what they’re about to say is a sensible thing to say.

Obviously we just need to genetically engineer rats that are able to eat and digest plastic, and then release them into the great landfills where all the errant plastic is piling up. Then we'll just have a mutant rat problem instead of a plastic garbage problem.

Then we create a cat to eat the mutant rats, how about thast, and then a dog to eat the mutant cats, because of those Democrats, and then a horse to eat the mutant dogs, a problematical slog. For some reason it was a horse I don’t know why, of course.

It's crazy. It's exactly one of those things that is punishing to a minority of the population and is built in such a way that it won't get changed.

That is rather the point.

Remove the minority so the only people left around are people you like like you.

The only problem is the people in the group of people you like like you will get refined so it’s smaller and smaller until there’s no one left but people you like like you you.

Also, coexistence of science and religion wasn't exactly what I was talking about, more the alleged grounds for the claim that x religion is true.

Of course, see, this'll all be irrelevant once Mercer arrives. We're probably not terribly far along the Ascent, but we can still honorably grasp the handles of empathy. We all agree Mercer is the one true teacher, riiight?

Who' s mercer?

Mercer Frey.

I was playing Whirlygig on Fall Guys, a level I am historically bad at.

Except this time! I would’ve qualified 4th, but I got disconnected from the server right at the goddamn line.

I see Reelya’s side, but the power dynamics of the situation, without knowing anything beyond a teenage girl being employed by her older lover’s family, implies some impropriety, to put it lightly.

My uncle posted something about the US government deliberately injecting syphilis into black folk in the South in the guise of free healthcare between 1932 and 1972.

A quick Google and Wikipedia article later, and I discovered the real story is not necessarily that far off; they wanted to see what the long-term effects of untreated syphilis was on black men to see if it developed differently than in white men, so they went and found some folk with syphilis by offering free healthcare to black folk, didn’t tell them they had syphilis, observed them, actively prevented them from getting treatment for syphilis when penicillin was found to be effective, and only stopped when it was leaked to the media what they were doing, despite releasing medical papers for the 40 year period they were doing this.

Then I discovered another Wikipedia article about American doctors deliberately infecteing Guatemalans with syphilis and other STDs because they wanted to find a means to prevent it for soldiers, then penicillin. It included a particularly harrowing excerpt in which... well, it was unpleasant. Bonus points for this occurring during the trial of Nazi doctors doing horrific things to concentration camp prisoners during the war.

I’d like to know where this disconnect between the desire for discovery and completely de-humanizing people comes from, but also, I really don’t.

Do we know why heat affects violence levels? Why football affects violence levels?

Being too hot is quite a frustrating experience, and football also can be frustrating at times.

Some people react to being frustrated by being violent.
