Do you have a time limit for your doctorate or does it just take as long as it takes?

I think I just feel a bit more sympathy for people who joined the family. She fell in love with William, ‘t ain’t her fault that comes with infinite scrutiny.

The furore about her not being seen (officially) in public is presumably why the picture was released in the first place. She’s not even allowed to try to calm people down without speculation about it being splashed all over the news.

The BBC article on it today even went over some of the parts that had been (possibly? I didn’t read that much about it because it’s soul destroyingly stupid) edited, and even then she may not have been doing it in a deliberate effort to manipulate discourse.

I don’t have any particular like for the royal family, but holy shit it must be so exhausting having everyone’s eyes on you all the time for the tiniest little thing to critique, and the smallest vacuum of space you create about anything is immediately filled with speculation about all sorts of things.

The media is apparently going bananas over an edited (by her) picture of Princess Kate because she apparently isn’t allowed any privacy while she convalesces from major surgery.

I’ve never really understood the fascination with royals, and it does get to reach quite disgusting levels at times.

Unfortunately Republicans don’t care that much about Russia anymore. He’ll have people voting for him precisely because he’ll stop funding the war effort.

Yeah I had the 10% lee-way too. I always found myself putting unnecessary gloss on my language because I was usually underneath and filling it with actual content was clearly out of the question, whereas my wife usually asked me to edit her’s down because she usually went over the limit.

Yeah I always had 1500 word essays for university, though I left midway through year 3 of 4.

I get migraines for my caffeine withdrawal headaches, so avoid caffeine for the most part.

What I quoted from the article did not illustrate my point very well, but the article as a whole does. Israel has changed their story a few times about what happened and their involvement.

If they were just honest about, or maybe even just a lot better at hiding the fact they don’t give a shit about their obligations as an occupying power/following international law, I wouldn’t really have anything to say about it, but they keep trying to make it look like they’re responding proportionally or are justified in what they’re doing.

In what way is it knee-jerk? Just read the article.

Israeli spokespeople say most of the casualties were from stampeding and trampling and the aid vehicles leaving, while a hospital says that of the 176 patients they saw, 142 had bullet wounds. That falls into question “warning shots while leaving” narrative.

Even from the quotes I put in, the spokespeople seem very surprised that starving people are desperate for food.

BBC article on the convoy massacre.

They can’t even get their story straight on it:

Quote
In further comments to the UK's Channel 4 News, IDF spokesman Lt Col Peter Lerner said a "mob stormed the convoy bringing it at some stage to a halt.

"The tanks that were there to secure the convoy see the Gazans being trampled and cautiously tries to disperse the mob with a few warning shots."

In a video statement posted on X at 20:35 GMT - 22:35 in Gaza and Israel - the IDF's Daniel Hagari claimed: "Hundreds became thousands and things got out of hand."

He said the tank commander decided to retreat to avoid harming civilians and "they were backing up securely, not shooting at the mob".

Which is it? Firing shots to calm civilians - never mind considering why they think that is step one in trying to de-escalate a situation - or retreating to get out the way?
