People will get fucked up by this, because people are stupid.

However, I think that people literally risking their lives and those of their loved ones after a month of being cooped up is proof that very few people would ever sit on unemployment benefits if the alternative is gainful employment.

I don’t think they need to pick it up necessarily, just pay to have it stored someplace, which is why the folks want to get rid of the oil futures stuff for May since otherwise they’re paying for that.

As far as I understand it anyway which, considering the sum of my knowledge is the 10 minutes I spent reading a Beeb article and a CNN article, ain’t much.

Mafia’s dead, man. You’d need a necromancer before that happens.

Refrigerator?

...

A quick read through on Wikipedia would imply this means people are protesting in favour of dictatorship and removal of their rights?

I was mocked on here for worrying about this back in late February and lo and behold I found myself living on the periphery of the worst affected area of the worst affected state in the worst affected county of the COVID crisis  :P

So ‘worry more about the flu’ wasn’t exactly that long ago

The quarantine days are blending together but honestly not much time has passed since the vast majority of people went into lockdown

Yeah, you really did call it. A bit hysteric, I still believe, but you were far more accurate than I was. Sorry for downplaying you so many times in the past, Tamer.

My homestate of Wisconsin plans to stay closed about 3 weeks longer than the states surrounding it. Of course, my facebook is full of people shouting that this is a violation of rights. I guess people want to die. *shrug*

Yeah, but they also held an in-person election despite the certainty it would kill a lot of people. Or because of the certainty.

Republicans and conservatives certainly weren’t all that concerned about a virulent pandemic. The governor at least was trying to be sensible and delay it, or at least get everyone an absentee ballot.

One hopes this comes back to bite them in November.

I believe in the superiority of humans (and other hypothetical sapient species) over non-sapient species. There is no need to "balance things out".
Well see, there's your problem. Cruelty is inherent in such a viewpoint. Hopefully one day you realise that! :(
I know that. And I don't care that I am supporting cruelty. I have very little empathy for cows, pigs, sheep, and other farm animals. Why should I, when they are non-sapient, not endangered, and their sole purpose in life is to provide food (or wool)?

Also I enjoy the taste of meat, which, for me, is enough of a reason to continue to eat it.

Indeed.

If sapience is your benchmark here, what are your thoughts on the mentally disabled?
Dont you enjoy the taste of meat of the mentally disabled?
Only if they’re free-range.
As far as I'm concerned if you run slower than me you're fair game
Usain Bolt is most assuredly the apex predator.

It's a shame, to refuse to even slightly utilise one of humanity's best aspects - our capacity for compassion (or at least basic empathy).

Therein lies the problem with humanity, and the probability that sapience isn’t a universal human trait: people assign arbitrary lines between acceptable and unacceptable behaviours, and those lines differ from person to person, for other arbitrary reasons.

I got super-duper sunburned after spending around 4 hours sitting around drinking in my driveway.

Like, ow.

The sun lives outside. Why would you go there?

People were visiting because nobody cares of this pandemic.

That’s what the Wikipedia article seems to suggest.

Well, outright states really.

Bunch of mad fucks thinking the world will be made unto their own image once Donny rounds up all the folks who disagree with them, Dems are satanist paedophiles supported by libtard Hollywood etc.
