So...

Watcha doing, dolores? You’re all gung-ho on the idea that Tric won’t provide any useful information but you’re also going in heavy on the pumping him for info. Seems rather redundant. Will knowing his role be useful, or are you just happy to engage with him to breadcrumb/mislead your own stuff?

ICT has already told you his alignment.

Naturegirl, are you going to let the more experiences players push you around again?

I’m VT.

What’s everyone else’s role?

The more people infected, the more likely it is to mutate, perhaps to something that will much more adversely affect that 97%.

I did not know Lone Wolf had a game.

There was a website that was working on putting the books (and another Joe Dever title) online so you could play through them, and I got through quite a few of them before hitting a wall in like... book nine or something.

Haven’t looked the site up in years, but they had all the LW ones and the first book at least of the post-apocalyptic Mad Max thing.

Doctor Doak sighs and places his hand on the fancy large circle. The sooner this was over the sooner he could get back to doing something useful.

It’s arm straight for a left turn, bent at the elbow with the fingers pointing up for a right turn, bent with fingers down for braking.

Assuming a WRONG left-hand drive car.

Ain't y'all ever played WarioWare?
It'll teach you everything ya need to know about parking life.
FTFY

True. My understanding of soccer is still "Fuck if I know. Sometimes something happens or not for some reason." I don't think anyone I knew could figure out that minigame. Washing a cow or opening a champagne bottle were easy. Great game aside from the stupid soccer thing.

Rules of soccer: kick the ball. If anyone else comes within six feet of your person, stop, drop, and roll, preferably clutching an appendage and look like you’re in pain.

The most stressful part of my driving test was getting out of the parking lot.

There was a construction vehicle unloading something at the only exit, so I had to - on instruction from the dude giving the test - drive up the kerb into the next parking lot over to actually get out. Probably damaged the car in the process, but I passed the test with 4 demerits. Didn’t have to parallel park, but I recall him asking me to start reversing after parking, and immediately telling me to stop ‘cause I went too fast heh.

I work for the adventurer’s guild; we were looking into the corrupted beasts recently and came across a mage’s tower. He appeared to be looking into something he called “the Seed”, which seems a likely suspect for the corruption, as well as mention of a nature mage, so I took it upon myself to look a bit further into the subject. I found the books in the tower. As you can see, the series the mage had is incomplete, which limits what I can do, really.

I’d appreciate your insight, and hopefully the missing books too, if you have them available.

"Yup yup, Aven mentioned the adventurers he brought in. Well let's take a look here."

She opens the first set of books and flips through all three simultaneously.

"Basic stuff, you are missing a few volumes, and these are outdated editions."

Flo clambers over the shelves skillfully and disappears into the upper reaches of the library, then returns with a full set of Elementary Nature Magic.

"There we are. I don't think these will help you much. Certain tomes aid in directly dilating magical reserves, make the reader more receptive to magic. Your books are mostly theory though, for classroom use."

Doctor Doak gains Elementary Nature Magic Volumes I-VI (10th Edition).

"The Seed... it may or may not have to do with any of the myths associated with the Forest of... well I'm not sure if the Forest has a name. We're far from the capital and not all places have been charted and named yet. I've heard it referred to as "Unknown Forest" by travellers and outside visitors but I digress."

Flo pulls out a book at random from a nearby shelf and starts flipping through the pages.

"Seed, seed... it could be anything. A forest deity, or old wives' tales about human-snaring trees, or rare yield-boosting forest seeds, ground up into mulch by farmers and scattered over their fields. I could help narrow it down if you can share more clues, did you notice any landmarks while you were in the tower? Oh also..."

Not as such, no. The forest to the northeast, however, was... well, I suppose corrupted would be the best word. There was a large patch of it that looked discolored and rotten from a room high up in the tower. Quite were it was and how big I’m not too sure.

Flo adjusts her glasses.

"If you are trying to learn magic maybe I can help you out?"

Flo attempts to smile but it comes out more as a smirk.

"You can check out anything you like in here, no charges. But unlocking magic potential, improving existing talents, the required training and practice to sustain learnt magic feats, I can help out with all of those!"

Flo leans in close to Doctor Doak with a wicked grin going almost from ear to ear.

"What do you say? It'll only cost a modest amount, just enough for the library's upkeep."

Doctor Doak chuckles softly.

I don’t think it’s possible that I could learn magic, I’m...” he ponders how to describe his situation, settling on vague, smiling to himself, “... foreign.

"Yes I was saying... mind if I take a look at the books you're carrying?"

Doctor Doak nods and hands the books over, spine first, gaping slightly at the arachnid portion of her body. This world was a little strange, but nobody else seemed to mind, so he might as well get on with it.

Doctor Doak struggles in vain against the man, eventually giving up and being “guided” to the destination. The sooner he got this over with, the sooner he could get back to research.

Uh... the... uh... the Librarian? Can I speak to them? About nature magic?

What did it involve?

I was playing Blood Bowl: Chaos Edition as a Dwarf team (obviously ::)) against an undead team, and made an error that was to result in a sure touchdown against me, on the very last turn of the first half.

Their flesh golem (an annoyance because it is hard to knock down as a result of having higher strength than all my players) picked up the ball and made a bee line for my end zone. They had to go for it the last two spaces - this means they roll a D6 for each space, and if they fail the roll, fall over, also a bold decision since it was a blizzard, which I believe results in failure on a roll of 1 or 2 instead of just 1 - and evidently succeeded the first square, and failed the second.

When a player is knocked down, they make a roll to determine their injury, if any.

The injury was death.

Half time!

In the Bloodbowl Team Manager board game, the undead are pretty much a chaos version the dwarves, but better. Is that true in the normal version as well?

I 'ave no idea. It wasn't an undead team as it turns out, it was Khemri.

I'm basically playing Blood Bowl because I can't remember where I bought Chaos League on 'tinternet and I've lost my disc. I just want to kill things in the name of sport.

Pretty much all the dwarf players have the block skill though (except the runners) so they can go up against things pretty easily.
