Edgar smiles at his upgraded squad.

"Well then, let's get to it! Head toward the explosion, but lets loot then burn all the buildings between here and there. We deserve to have a little fun, don't we?" he says, to some scattered cheers from his men.

Head toward in the direction of the massive explosion, loot the buildings for any weapons and material, hopefully of the explosive/burny variety. Once we're done searching them, set them alight!

They pretty much have, what with the whole “the deal you have is the deal you’ll get” rhetoric. Then again, they agreed the deal, and it’s the UK that wants to change it and expects the EU to actually come up with the details.

Perhaps you’re just not used to diplomatic talk when you have the Orange toddler in the White House, throwing a tantrum whenever someone makes even a hint of a critical remark? :p

Boris won’t cave. He suffers, ostensibly, from the delusion that Britain is somehow Great, and has any sort of political capital to invest in getting the EU to capitulate.

He knows the EU won’t renegotiate unless he can come up with a reasonable alternative, which he does not have, else he would have presented it already. Now he’s trying to make it look like the inevitable no-deal is all the EU’s fault.

Whether or not the parliament can come up with something to delay or halt this utter mess, though, is the big question. If the referendum two years ago was “do you want to see a huge political mess for two years, two changes of government because the leadership are liars, cowards, and incompetents, resulting in nothing actually getting done and we then leave wholly under-prepared and looking like mugs, or remain?” We certainly wouldn’t find ourselves in this mess.

Perhaps you would have enjoyed the tender minstrations or someone who claims to be able to shoot small mammals from 2/3 of the world away.

Then again, if he can’t think to go the short way, there’s probably something wrong with him.

Cross-postin’, ‘cause it belongs here more than there:

This is somewhat tangential, but I found it amusing to read:

http://www.ox.ac.uk/Research/controlling-immigration-good-democracy

Modus morons indeed.

For an article entitled “controlling immigrants is good for democracy” one would expect an article that actually explains how controlling immigrants is good for democracy. He doesn’t even do that in the five paragraphs he wrote on democracy and immigration, at the very end of the article.

It was an interesting enough read, if a little shaky in the logic department.

What sort of institutional change are you expecting, when everything else remains the same? The same parties, controlled by the same people, with the same electorate?

I am also curious, given I intend to pur-chase Kingdom Come Deliverance later today.

I know, but however cold the water is, my body still heats it up when I’m done, and the room I want to sleep in is still stupidly warm for no goddamn reason :p

It’s a silly visceral thing. I don’t like putting any kind of lotion on either, because it is a loathsome sensation.

... Maybe sleep in the shower?

The tub is too small to lie comfortably.

I slept on the living room floor with the AC on. I had a weird dream in which I accidentally drove my car off a bridge (like the bridge in GTA 1!) into a river because the brakes weren't working very well  and was hauling it out on my shoulder when I saw Paul Merton dressed as a priest walking a greyhound. I rounded the river in the same direction as Mr. Merton was walking when he muttered to himself that I wasn't allowed to do that because he was the master, and the car suddenly became much heavier, but then I ignored him, and woke up when my alarm went off.

You should be able to rebel against the duke, though if you're both in the same realm after that I'm not sure you can usurp the title. You can declare war for it after the truce expires (or not, if you don't mind the opinion penalty and loss of prestige) though.

Find a new job, then tell your boss. Pro gamer move.

Find a new job, forget to tell your boss. It's about what they deserve.

Air conditioning does not exist in either of the rooms I could feasibly get a good night’s rest in.

I will suffice with sleeping with the cats, and be awoken by one hours before I wanted to be, as the only room with AC contains felines, and lots of tiny bright lights because of all the telecom accoutrements I apparently need in order to bear my existence in a world that thinks Summer needs to happen.

Also, if there is one thing I cannot stand, it’s being wet in a hot room. The shower would be pleasant, the feeling of the water I failed to get off me warming up and not evaporating is hell, man. Even just wet hair. I am bemused how Olympic swimmers can do their thing then get their kit on and not look as though they’re in some torture device.

It is 10.30 in the night-time, I have a fan blowing directly on me, and have done for the past 20 minutes, and I am sweating my balls off.

Summer can go fuck itself right in the eye socket IWANTTOSLEEPDAMMIT
