I don’t think we’ve hit capacity, currently.

I guess I didn't realize how influential China was in Pakistan - until BBC pointed it out.

Guess it makes sense, given their common rival. Pakistani military is not negligent . . .

China has leagues of influence all over the world right now, particularly in Asia and Africa. They are very busy investing into countries, and more importantly putting them in debt to China.

Don’t resist the punnery, man.

I mean, there was that Swedish dude who caused an uproar and had the goddamn mayor come out and yell at him to repaint his house, because he painted the outside in this shifting spectrum "sunset" color scheme.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Complaints from the homeowners association included "They're just not Swedish colors!".

EDIT: Thank you, Alexa.

First of all, Sweden does not have mayors

Second of all

We don't live in fucking orange juices okay

We just don't
Are you going to tell.me you don't suckle on narwhals for nutrition?

hey, narmilk isn't a kind of juice. And it's blue, not orange!

A-are you Luke Skywalker?

Rural > urban 😛
+1. If I want a city event, I can drive to it.
To be fair, f you want anything you have to drive to it. Cars are also expensive, what with having to buy it and insure it and maintain it and fuel it.

Live in a city and you can walk to whatever you want, and bus it if you can’t. Least in Auld Reeky I could do that.

My favourite chippy and Chinese takeaway were just round the corner from where I lived, a little bit further was a pizzeria and a little further than that where I got my groceries. In between those there were at least three places to get drunk.

I kinda stopped paying attention to the story when the guy who sorted out Raiden and his artificial body and blood was all “HER TITS ARE REAL MAN” when he saw one of the female baddies.

I think the consensus is split between Yogodhim, or Yohforfucksake.

Eh?

It... they’re building it just to build it..? ‘cause I’m not sure how a new buding without any history or apparent reason behind it (beyond “we also built next door”) can be a “cultural and social landmark”.

I do like how they’re letting school kids come and see it. Here kids, learn... uh... just learn, okay?

In saying that, maybe it’s just a megaproject... Norman Foster confirmed as Urist?

Rage has already been cruelly torn from us.

What will be next?

Sadness? Terror? Happiness?
My bet is on Mild Sad.

WTF, I think. Or sadness, these two seem to be the spillover from the rage stuff.

London's city planners building a monumental dildo inside the lunchbox

Also in other news Theresa May is somehow still in power

I have literally been expecting since last Thursday to wake up to news she’s been ousted.

I guess I’m enjoying/horrified by all the political posturing by the various stripes of cowardly Tory and overconfident Labour until it happens.

... I mean, it’s going to happen, right? Right..?

Head of religion also nets you a monthly prestige and piety bonus for controlling a religion (2 and 1 respectively, I think)

Also the blood sacrifice thing is pretty cool, if only in my mind. You get 30 piety for winning the blood olympics, and the mass sacrifice thing gets you morale bonuses for your army but also penalties for your provinces for 10 years (or 5 or 20, I wasn’t paying that much attention) depending on how harsh you do it (the three choices hitting either your capital demesne, all your demesne, or all the demesnes held by you and your vassals)

I’m also thinking you get a bloodline unlocked for doing it a lot, but I’m not sure.

I think temporal is what I chose, ‘cause it means your character is the head of the church. Like the caliph or fylkir. Prestige and piety bonuses, plus declaring Great Holy Wars when I want.

Beyond that I wasn’t paying attention. I’m not sure what the one that said something along the lines of each region has their own head does.

You can absolutely search by trait. It's how I find my children genius people to betroth them to. What, do you think I hunted down that genius welsh woman by hand? When I was the Byzantine Emperor? Far from it.

+1

Though I don’t like the Byzantines.

Reformed the African faith. Bloodthirsty warmongering. Fun times.

Also got myself a bloodline, and discovered a “bloodline of the survivor” which ironically died out pretty much immediately.

Unfortunately the Abassids have all of North Africa as well as all of the Middle East and most of Persia. Holy shit. Though I did take advantage of that when I took one of the holy sites to reform my faith.

Carpathia also has a great deal of Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, Brittania and bits of the various Francia empires.

So the warrior lodges are a bit OP. Had one guy have 41 martial. Also had a one-armed, one-legged, one-eyed, disfigured dude still have enough personal combat skill to win duels. Interestingly I think only one of those injuries was self-inflicted... he also developed leprosy in later life, though I’m not sure anyone would have noticed.

Pfft, you’re a doctor though. You earned, like, a gajillion k anyway, and hide it in an offshore account with golden syringes or something.
