Other Games / Re: Games request - slow pace, relaxing build games anyone?

Imperialism 1 and 2 count, I think. I can second Factorio, too.

I can't recommend Victoria 2 or Crusader Kings 2 on the basis of relaxation, though, as the mechanics are very in-depth and you can get invaded at any time. The wrong move in Victoria 2 can have long lasting economic or political effects, meaning you need to plan more than relax. But they're good games in their own right. If you do find them up your alley, try Gangsters: Organized Crime. You can build a criminal empire in a very relaxed fashion.

Too bad Gangsters is broke

Not to be that guy*,but snakes are generally venomous. There are poisonous examples, but mostly the toxic ones are venomous. /technicality Nazi

*I love being that guy.

Edit for saying I was technically fascist

I think forum page links (like from New Replies, and I think elsewhere) are working again!  It was sending me to the bottom of pages where I was sometimes missing a lot of replies, it was confusing.

Not for me.

I’m not sure embarrassment is the only emotion that would motivate someone toward a safe space though :p

As far as I’m aware the AI in SF can be modified in the options prior to play. I think, at least for SFII, the default was kind of in the middle between the easiest and hardest difficulty, on a scale of 1 (maybe 0) to 8.

I think 4 and below meant you didn’t get to fight the “boss” characters after defeating the 8 playable characters though, and I think 6 or higher got you a funky credits scene after finishing the game.

No idea about the anniversary edition, but Capcom aren’t exactly consumer-friendly these days.

Well the beer is, so long as it’s less than 100ml, in a special container provided by the airport and in a ziplock bag.

According to the news this morning, it was mid-addressed, but he was the intended recipient.

That must be nice. My parents-in-law don’t like me, but recently something was done that means I don’t feel guilty about refusing to go see them unless it’s a special occasion, so I get time to myself when my wife is guilted into seeing them.

They cannot, but the decadence revolt was easy enough to deal with.

Then I had another, bigger one, which triggered during a crusade against me. But that was okay too, because the Catholics were sending things piecemeal, and nobody particularly nasty joined. It did reduce my capital province from booming to... the first step in good province boons. Frankly that was the worst of it.

The French stole three counties during a revolt though, which triggered during another revolt I was about to win, and I got knocked back a bit by the skill of the commanders of the second one. Another one that I got to -90 warscore before pulling it back.

I got to be the grand master of the assassins at ~35, and Shi’ism is regaining some moral authority despite an empty Caliphate. My dukes are keeping me on my toes enough that I’m not particularly interested in expanding ‘til I upgrade my two shiny new castles.

I'll plus 1 all this too. I have found that mentality is important; if I can stop the initial falling off the cliff into the depressiveness, I can push through things and keep going, for the most part.

The only issue is that this is unbelievably general advice, and I'm not sure how well you know your own process of what causes an episode, or if you know how things generally develop in how you feel and think and the sensations and such, to be more specific regarding what to do. There are also things I can't stop once the ball starts rolling, which is saddening. I guess I'm lucky in that respect, because those things generally make me so tired I can sleep through the worst of it.

I think the game Banished might be good for that, but it's a game I've never played, partly because the last I checked there was no danger to your settlement.

The closest this forum has to "mildly anxious dread" thread, so I'll plonk it here.

Just used drain cleaner on my shower. Now I need to wait and see if that's going to work, or if I'm going to be stuck with a clogged shower drain until maintenance can send some guys over to unplug it.

Also, it's a bit disgusting facing that clog of disgusting hair.

Also I'm perpetually paranoid of strong cleaning products. Especially ones that have enough warnings to make a nuclear plant blush.

A drain snake may come in handy prior to calling out maintenance.  You will be pulling out all that hair yourself though, which may not be particularly pleasant if you have little control over your gag reflex.

Fakeedit: never mind.

My game likes to be cruel to me.

Genius heir has a child. Child is not genius.

Genius heir dies shortly thereafter, making non-genius grandchild my heir.

I die shortly thereafter. Cue everyone in my dynasty becoming decadent and my cries of "thtop eating all the cream caketh!" falling on deaf ears.

My character is 6 years old and will probably face a decadence revolt soon, given my +1.2% per month decadence increase, and I have no idea what to expect.

At least I got two events after his rise to power that gave my capital province two extra holdings, for the princely sum of ~4500 gold, so if I lose I'll smash everyone with my amazeballs economy and army.
