General Discussion / Re: Terrible Jokes

You...  You realize almost noone will get that.  You do.  That's what makes it a terrible joke.
Well played.

There's only one letter missing, man.

If they spelled "tyre" properly, though...

Nope. Reasonable political positions are banned. You must either be a capitalist pig or a communist bastard

Well... are we using the "standard" left- and right-wing descriptions? 'cause anarchists are rather regarded as on the left side of the spectrum, and fascists on the right, too.

There's also the more detailed thing which has a y-axis too, describing your desire for the size of the government. Or how much influence the government has. Something like that.

I'd like you to be more specific in your snark.

Not counting spambots and the like, I reckon we can make the whole year, it's outside of American campaigning times
Getting adverts for it already man, about 7 months to go.

I saw someone in the parking lot at work had attached a large plank of wood to their car to act as a rear bumper. I was rather impressed.

It’s the song that was playing when she first killed.
Ah, you always remember your first time. In unnecessarily exacting detail. Rather annoying, really. Like, does it really matter what color the damn curtains were that day, brain!?
Depends what you were doing with the curtains, clarty beggar.

I was about to get snarky about this conversation happening in the sad thread and then realized that I don’t actually care that much about it (yes, I know, that’s the joke)

Was going to say he’s KGB and that’s why he’s doing this figurative sleight of hand nonsense, but the same argument could be made about politicians.

I would quite like Theresa May to just say “well, we gain nothing from his death considering he was essentially given to us in a spy trade, and we gain nothing from trying to blame it on Russia ‘cause you’re already being hammered by sanctions over Crimea.”

Only issue is hems good at this game, so he’d have answers ready. Just go completely mad then “sure, we did it, do you have a problem bruv?”

7704
No, the political side of his party just don’t like him and apparently will take any half-decent opportunity to tell people about it.

He didn’t quite condemn the Russians hard enough for their liking, and they like to fight each other instead of the opposition, so like, 19 of them signed a letter saying Theresa May’s course of action was good. Maybe more since then, not sure. She did what was basically expected of her, given the limited options she had.

Ah, Deltora Quest: The australian series that still inexplicably has an anime adaptation.

Wait, wasn't that the book where the kids gave a chemistry book to a bunch of chakram throwing alien elephants and thus inadvertently gave the bad guys the knowledge to create guns which they then used to shoot gods? And Arthur got a blood transfusion from a random girl in a very unsafe manner while Merlin watched?

No? It's about a belt.
That name reminds me of some random books I found one day when I was looking for something nostalgic one day.

That was such a hazy memory, I'm not sure it's even real.
I bizarrely feel that way about animated shorts.

I do know the cat came back and 1300ccs is real, though. Both also very funny, and quite morbid.

One of those things that really annoys me is the people that think they're some kind of bloody mentally superior individual. I'm not talking stereotypical neckbeard "I am a bastion of englihtenment" type people, but the ones that think that they have it worked out and that everyone else around them are just uneducated, illogical sheep.

It's the sheer lack of introspection they have. If they got off their high horse, sat down, and actually fucking thought about it, they'd realise they're not a genius, they're not wiser, they're generally not special. They're just a normal person that's got the idea that they ARE special wedged into their mind so hard they don't even think to try and analyse the bloody idea.
But what if they ARE mentally superior for real
High Int, low Wis. Only real way wisdom comes along is experience, and the best way to get experience is through time.
Depends what you’re doing.

Given your analogy, murdering things is the best way to get experience. Or role-playing, but that’s not as fun as murdering things.

Seeing as you’re in an at-will state, you can also leave without notice, unless otherwise specified in a contract.

*Reads the massive and well thought out, complex discussion of filmographic differences, artistic styles, and plot devices*

Yeah but it was pretty awesome when they fired at Luke and he just brushed his shoulder, like, "Anything else?".
Right? I thought the movie was great.
Aw yeah man. *highfive*
*fist bump for weirdness*

I’m not sure I can agree to that. The brain is an incredibly complex thing, and not all medication will have the same effects on different people. Same for therapies. One of the biggest things about therapies is you have to have a desire for it to work for it to be effective, which isn’t going to exist for a depressive. It also depends on the person doing the therapy. If they’re a dick, you won’t respond to it the same way as if they were someone’s you could respect.

You can also bring someone back from self-destructive behaviours short of suicide. Alcoholic? Take away the alcohol, treat the physical, psychological and behavioral aspects of the addiction.

Gambling addict? Send their photo to every gambling establishment in the area and beyond, treat the psychological and behavioral aspects of the addiction.

Suicide? Too bad, nice knowing you.

There are situations in which suicide is reasonable (incurable degenerative/terminal disease) but outside of those, no.
