It's the Netherlands man, everything'll get done sensibly and they'll dance around windmills while performing ritual sacrifices so the sea levels don't rise.

Pfft, what are y’all, Communists?

Y’all forgot to mention the addictive nature of nicotine, so even if a person decides they don’t want to consume cigarettes no more, it is infinitely harder when they are physically and psychologically addicted to smoking :P

I also think that you’re less likely to get unpleasant diseases as a result of getting basic medical attention in regards to clean needles and such.

Who’da think it: treating people like people is a good thing.

tobacco isn't nearly the problem it was 60 years ago, for example.
As far as I'm concerned cigarettes are basically pure poison still
People got the right to make their own decisions and put whatever they want into their body’s, min.

Soon I shall enter the sweet blissful embrace of whiskey, Irish Red Ale, and rum. Not mixed mind you, separately.

You should mix them*

*you should definitely not mix them, I have seen the results and they were not good for the person involved.

As for economic reasons for unbanning something, the same thing also applies to any other illegal drug, so by itself is not valid argument.

Why not?

I look forward to news of the Finnish army/government being brought down by copyright infringement charges in a few years.

Why can't we mount a heavy tank upside down to a Zeppelin and just use that? Would that actually function or would something go horribly wrong (I mean besides being shot down)

The fact that everything in the tank is made to function right side up

Well, some modifications could fix that right up.

Hurhur

Is meeting Putin a requisite quality you guys want in a foreign affairs minister? Elsewise it seems like a pretty stupid thing to lie about, not knowing any other context.

Walked into a casino and was given 10 bucks of free slot machine play.

Walked out with $36 cash. More than enough to pay for dinner!
Certainly the jackpot for the ages.

Okay but seriously, huge respect for quitting when you're ahead. I probably won't have the willpower to quit unless I was way ahead (and the more likely scenario would be me losing it all).

I’d usually take mum initial stake and put it in my pocket once I’d won a bit, and add to it as I got going.

Not that I had much opportunity, only going to a casino a handful of times, usually when drunk and keeping an eye on my cousin who has a bit of a problem regarding gambling.

To put it very, very simply: it’s this patriotism thing you’ve had going since the Cold War, methinks, as well as the Protestant work ethic thing which has permeated the idea that if you work hard, you’ll do well for yourself.

The former means you can’t think badly about America - let alone voice such concerns! - or you’re a traitor; the latter means someone who is having trouble obviously isn’t working hard enough.
