I will assume AC3, as that's the most egregious example of Ubisoft story writing.

I have recently played a game from a CD, the first time I have done so in years.

Perhaps the fact the disc drive is slightly above eye level, and I forgot how noisy the drive can get as it spins the disc faster and faster and faster...

I worry the the disc will explode and I will be blinded by shrapnel.

I think the misunderstanding comes from perspective. I can't speak for others, so I can just clarify my comment was an observation (as opposed to a challenge) that your definition of belief is the same as what I think (or believe, hoho) faith means. They are synonyms, after all.

It probably doesn't help that another synonym you mentioned is fairly central to the human condition: think. Perhaps others are of the opinion that your posited lack of belief is impossible due to that? Or perhaps I'm just too far into the fog between sleep and consciousness that I'm merely hallucinating these connections...

... and should thus stop, given the growing distance between the train and the tracks.

Max's definition of belief does sound more like faith.

The first paragraph of the article says that there's significant doubt the attack was the work of radical Islamists. "Allegedly" meaning something that is reported, but there's no proof.

The article goes on to quote state prosecutor Frauke Koehler as agreeing with the German media reports that it was "accurate" that the letters found at the scene saying the attack was done in the name of Allah may be fakes, which is what it says in the title of the article, thought a little more certainly than the article does.

Where exactly did I get it wrong?

What the piss is wrong with Wisconsin? :P

White House no longer revealing visitor logs, not that Obama's lot were all that great at it in the first place.

The bombing of the Dortmund team bus was allegedly not performed by Islamic extremists.

Unrelated: It's bad that I unironically like "Never Gonna Give You Up"?

Why would it be? It is an excellent song.

Indeed: It was actually voted the second-most popular song in this list of greatest British pop songs, made long before that somethingroll craze involving it.

Voting should be a right.

I mean, just by your very existence within a society you make a contribution. Your physical and psychological needs create demand for goods and services, meaning need for jobs to provide these goods and services, pretty much all of which will generate taxes.

Even if you have a "negative" contribution, for example breaking the law, you create demand for security and law enforcement, which is more jobs and taxes.

I'm uncertain on limiting factors like citizenship, though. It obviously makes sense to limit voting to someone who lives within the state that the vote occurs - and are thus affected by the outcome - but perhaps not by something that can be abused to limit the vote to the "right" people/groups.
