You know what's pissing me off about the attack?

It's not the attack itself, but how gun enthusiasts, seemingly without caring for the dead and injured, are using it to say how great it would be if everyone in Britain had a gun. Not only is there a lack of respect there, there's a fundamental misunderstanding of how if gun access was easy, it's far easier for people like the bastard to perform a mass shooting.

In this case the gun laws prevented the attacker from having a gun.

And I think the fact that he did not have a gun may have saved a lot of lives.

So I have no idea how the gun lobby is spinning this to make it look like this guy being able to buy a gun would have been a good thing.
"Someone would (emphasis on would, I've not seen anyone say that it might not have happened, but that it WOULD have happened) have shot him before he could do any damage"

Going so far as someone saying that one shot would have ended it all, because no matter where you're shot, no matter how hopped up on adrenaline you are, you will automatically slump over.

And the person doing the shooting is always going to hit what they're aiming at too, of course.

Perhaps it would be a good time to remind you of Michael "the people have had enough of experts" Gove? Better yet, perhaps we should stop with the ad hominem?

Anyway, why are a broad selection of newspaper headlines of lesser quality as evidence than a pretty-much-anonymous internet forum set up for a niche game developer?

Might I remind you about Boris' bus? You would imagine if you have a political battle bus, you'd put your most appealing slogan on it.

As a side note, most of the first page results from the Google search "Brexit bus" tell us about the big fat lie that slogan was, too.

Though just for the record, if that's actually true, please take a moment to leave instructors as to how you're posting on the net. I'm sure that would be some kind of major scientific advance if we had replicable means of communicating with the undead.

Ghosts aren't undead :o

Even subtitles can't help with the Scottish dialect.

Was watching the U.K. version of Being Human, last series, episode 2. Basically, the Scottish ghost goes into the bathroom to find child ghost sitting fully-clothed in the bath rubbing a loofa over himself, and mumbles in an exasperated manner "Little Baby Jesus, what are you doing?" as she goes in.

The subtitles then proceed to tell me she said "Little Baby Cheeses" which, given the thread, I found to be pissing hilarious.

Police have decided the remains I found belong to the old woman that ran out of her house a couple years ago. Its good her family can finally say goddbye to her properly.

I imagine the scene thus:

a whiteboard, attached to it a set of photographs of recent missing persons, the spaces between the photos pockmarked with small holes. A police officer throws a dart, hitting a picture of an old woman. A grizzled older man with yellow stains under the armpits of his too small shirt claps his hands together

"Okay, that's who we found."

A younger, better dressed man looks confused, glancing between the older man and the whiteboard a few times.

"Sir?"

"The remains, that's who they belong to."

"But sir, the remains are much too small to b-"

"Don't argue with the darts, Kevin, or I'll bust your ass down to private faster than you can blink!"

"There aren't even privates in the police force!"

"Kevin, I'm warning you, you little shit, I'm not in the mood for insubordination. The darts have spoken."

You know, or maybe they were a bit more tactful about the whole thing, getting forensics and shit to identify the remains.

Don't Mormons drew like regular people to better infiltrate the system?

... casual reminder for the Nth time that clinton and sanders had near identical policy positions. Even much of where they differed had more to do with feasibility than intent, really...

And yet so many people were absolutely convinced that Sanders only cared about white men, and would do nothing for minorities. Media narratives are incredibly powerful.

Yet the Muslim-hating, xenophobic con-man won the election.

Be wary of sitting on the toilet too long without actually doing anything. That way haemorrhoids lie.

Given Strife's military background and the respect Mattis apparently maintains among military folk, I suspect the former :P

That's the joy of a two-party system. They're never going to compromise because it means compromising with the only competition. The fact that each party is also polarizing further and further from each other means compromise is getting less likely than never, too.

Not so much a death as... well death of something I guess.

So, playing Football Manager 2011, in something like my 16th season as manager (game says I've played it for almost 11 days, to give an idea of how long that takes) of Arbroath, who start in the 3rd Division in Scotland. I won the Premier Division (it goes Premier, 1st, 2nd, 3rd) in my 13th and 14th seasons, and was pipped to the post in my 15th season but I digress...

I get beaten in the Champions' League qualifiers, thus getting knocked down to the UEFA Cup, but after that I go on a tear, winning 19 games in a row in all competitions. Not pissing bad.

However, things in the league are weird. After about 8 games, there are 3 teams at the top who have won every single game, not including the previous year's bastards champions. I play one of these teams, and hammer them 7-0, the biggest victory I've had in years. A little bittersweet considering they're the team I'm a fan of, but ah well.

Come up against this team again a few weeks later, and get annihilated 4-0, stopping my run before it gets to a nice round 20. Sadness.

Muslims aren't fun to play
What don't you like about them?
How effective are constructions like cities and churches in generating money? I'm never sure exactly where my cash is coming from, as my go-to strat is mindless expansionism until i hit vassal limit and spend six rulers trying to raise vassal limit or push for viceroyalties, but  I always thought that most of my money was generated by the county capitol. If I drop some money on the cities, will I actually get more? Is it a worthwhile investment, assuming that I'm in a good position troops-wise?
Cities are the prime moneymakers in the game, generating significantly more revenue than castles or churches. That said, their owners will upgrade them on their own whenever they can, as most mayors have nothing better to spend money on. (I believe Descan is trying to get mosques because Iqta rulers can own mosques personally and mosques generate more revenue than castles, making for a more profitable demesne.)

There are three primary ways to use cities to your advantage, though. The first is building more cities in provinces with empty holding slots. The second is raising taxes on cities. The third is granting mayors counties and then granting the resulting Lord Mayors duchies. This makes them a merchant republic, which makes them pay you tons of taxes.

I'm going to have to suggest that building castles in your capital province is a better proposition, so long as you keep the ensuing baronies. If you have your steward to collect taxes (and your martial hiring levies or whatever that task is) you get the bonus to income in every single castle you have in the province. You keep all the money too.

Legitimate military action, I imagine will be the call.

Do i found some malteasers at the store today?? And so i bought some thinjing that they would be like americna whopper candy and therefore be a pleasant snacking experience. Well let me tell you, i was wrong

I had the exact opposite experience, thinking Whoppers would be similar to the ambrosial nature of Maltesers. I did not know that chocolate could ever feel like eating plastic.
