Yeah, if you're buying dirt-cheap shit it's going to be shit. Note that sparkling wine != champagne, there's actually a pretty steep list of practices that are required in order for a sparkling wine to be champagne, and it's illegal to call other stuff champagne in some places. We had a bottle once, for New Years, of about the cheapest genuine champagne we could find-it was still $40, but it was also really goddamn good.

Obviously not for chugging by the liter, but neither are lots of other things. To each their place and purpose. Same sort of thing applies to caviar: if you just eat some random fish roe on saltines you're probably not going to be impressed, for the same reason that a $5 bottle of sparkling wine probably won't impress.

I am reasonably sure Champagne is oner them European protected things, basically meaning that only stuff which is made in very specific ways within a certain region is allowed to be called Champagne.

Like the Forfar Bridie.

Had a couple of beers last night, kept myself hydrated throughout and afterward (something I've actually been doing anyway, given the physical nature of my job and how utterly unfit I am) and didn't wake up with an awful hangover. Didn't wake up with a hangover at all :o

Had a Sam Adams and a Stella, which is something I haven't had for pissing ages. Not the best lagers in the world (Sam Adams is too hoppy, Stella is... probably my body going "this? again? ffs..." heh) but then again I'm uncertain how to approach asking barstaff/restaurant servers with "gimme something with rye, man" 'cause I quite like rye-flavoured Kolsch.

Can't say I've noticed that, but I've not played since the most recent update. I played two full games (one from 769, one from 864 or whenever) with the one immediately prior, didn't see that happening with the Aztecs or Mongols. Maybe they're different though...

Well, I've completely forgotten what it was I was aiming for...

Then again, that's happened every single turn after, anyway heh.

I'm still game.

Check up on... my creations. ((I totally haven't forgotten their names!))

None of those things are basic sportsmanship.

It won't tell you if they'll get fucktons of special troops though, nor how they'll get 'em.

Obviously add the... what, 2k, 2.5k? Special troops for tribals with 500 prestige. Not sure if they also get special event troops, or if that's something to do with being at war with a different/Pagan religion (last I remember it happening was with the West African religion and it was pissing annoying trying to get Canarias from them as a result) so yeah. Apparently endless supply of the bastards.

This on top of the mercenaries Teneb mentioned. Depending on the type of war and who you're warring with, gotta pay attention to your opponents gold, prestige, and piety.

Also, I lost my wedding ring, and I have no pissing clue how I managed that. Took it off to cook something last night, pretty sure I put it in my pocket, come to bedtime and it's not in muh pocket :(

Ring 'as been found, on the floor in a place I would not expect it to fall out of my pocket. Oh well...

Your body likes to get into habits, min. Did you regularly wake up at 3am for whatever reason?

Best thing to do is just try to sleep through it, if you want it to stop happening. Since I started my job, I wake up shortly before 6am pretty much every day.

Slightly disappointed? The penultimate boss is a stealth cheese, and the final boss is a QTE!

I'm just going to put down for posterity that brexit was foolish and stupid and everyone will regret it in the future. I call full i told you so rights when such a time comes.

I think Scotland gets that right first :p and Northern Ireland I s'pose.

+1 anyway.

Not the real kind, sadly :P
It's a replica and probably ill-suited to actually hitting things with, but it's well-made, nice to look at, and something like a fifth of the price of one of the genuine pieces...

Anyway I'm no expert on swords. It's got a blade roughly the length of my arm, straight and edged on both sides.

Probably a claymore, if it's continuing the Celtic theme.
