Terminator's considered horror??

I mean… what’s not horrific about being hunted by an apparently indestructible time-traveling robot that puts on human skin?

That's actually super cool!  Sounds like a great idea for a sci-fi horror movie, too.

It’s called The Terminator

Playing Yakuza 2, doing side stuff, specifically chatting up hostesses at the club you can run. Basically, you listen to them chat for a bit then they ask you something and you have a choice of three responses, which happens four times during each chat, and each hostess needs to be chatted to three times before they open up a side story and then you can ignore them forever.

I’m doing the second chat with the (hopefully!) last one, a cutesy hostess who used to be an idol. She’s talking about how she forgets how to pronounce things, like the place the club is and even guests’ names. The responses you can make are:

“That’s part of your appeal.”

“You’re kinda dumb, huh?”

“You should really get that fixed.”

… and I’m just thinking of the dynamics here. You’re this girl’s boss, and you’re basically in a date-like setting, and in the previous selection there’s the implication she’s crushing on the PC, and the game lets you either say that her personality is good for her job, or she’s an utter wreck of a human being.

Not much middle ground for the mini-game there, eh game.

I lost 10lbs switching from regular soda to diet a few years back.

Evidently aspartame is heavier than sugar.

Probably losing weight because I started eating a bit more sensibly recently but I don’t really care enough to check.

I mean, if you want to take everything in the worst possible way, that’s your prerogative. Ain’t nobody pulled themselves out of a hole by obsessing over being in a hole though.

It’s more to let you know you’re not alone in how you feel.

It’s a cheeky little game, quite entertaining.

It’s kind of in the vein of Dungeon Keeper in that you don’t have direct control of your ghosties, but you can tie them to certain things and give them orders.

It can get a bit tricky later on when the levels get bigger, but it’s enjoyable.

Own yourself, also. The only person that can make you feel bad about you is you.

Funny you say that, as I just beat the flagship with the Federation Cruiser using two Flak II’s and a Burst Laser II.

The Artillery Beam is also OP, I don’t think I’d have got through the first phase without it.

Spoiler: an avenged death (click to show/hide)

Managed to win that next run, with the Ion Blast II, a Heavy Ion, and Heavy Laser Mk 1 for weapons, plus a ridiculous number of drones because I just kept getting them as rewards: 1 Defense II (that saved the run at least once on its own), a combat and a beam drone, and enough power in the system to run two of them at a time.

This time I also upgraded my Pilot upon getting to sector 8, not that it mattered since the first phase the hacker drone hacked the Pilot system :| I got through it though, and the tactic of getting through the shields with a combination of drones and ions worked a treat, then switching the ion blast to the enemy system causing me the biggest trouble at any given time (NO MORE MIND CONTROL) meant I could just watch as my ship tore the bugger to bits.

I unlocked the Federation Cruiser as a consequence, so I get to do that as a run for a bit, with the goal of unlocking the variants of it in the mean time.

Managed to get to sector 8 in very good nick: fully upgraded shield, engines, and reactor, an Ion Blast II that you start of with plus an Ion Stunner and a Hull Beam, as well as two drones(one combat, one beam), and enough scrap leftover to fully upgrade my sensors, doors, and pilot… though I didn’t do the latter because I had an elite pilot, as well as elite Engi engineer, Engi weapons officer, and Human shield officer (who doubled as security) plus one spare Engi to send out for repairing and shooting.

Got through the first two phases of the Rebel flagship fine, only taking a single point of damage in the second phase.

Third phase though… I’m playing in advanced mode and had never got to this point before so didn’t know they had a mind control system.

First they took over my weapons officer, who was blasting away for a bit until they got a lucky shot on the weapons system which basically took it all out, while teleporting guys in on top of that. This meant I was unable to deal with the flagship’s shields.

I was in the process of dealing with all of that as the initial mind control wore off when they did it again… to my pilot. This meant every single shot got through and made pretty short work of my ship… so I regretted a lot not upgrading my pilot system after that.

In the next run in the same ship, I managed to get a Slug as a reward in sector 1. Mofos are immune to mind control. Guess who immediately became my pilot?

You’re obviously an anti-Semite for pointing this out, or something along those lines.

Don’t the Believers also have penalties to research so they basically have to have probe teams to keep up with the other factions?
