How do you explain the reports of things like Reanimated Horse Hair resulting from butchering a horse in an evil biome?

#28 - The moment when your miners finish digging out the area you're planning to collapse is the perfect time to realize you forgot to place a support under it.

My favorite book is entitled "Dwarves: Fact or Fiction?"
It was written by - you guessed it - a dwarf.

Well, clearly it's talking about myths related to dwarves, and if they're true or not. For example:

A novice dwarf with a copper axe can easily take on a swarm of goblins - total truth.
Dwarves are a cowardly race that hides in the ground because they fear sunshine - False false false! how do people think this!?

Hey everyone,

just downloaded the new version and started do play a new game. Everything was running smooth, until a Weretapir appear. It killed one before I manage to kill it. And than got a fey mood, some Farmer throwing a tantrum, etc.

The strange part is that the fey mood claimed the Butcher shop. And produced a statue. Called "Rinulnekol, The Intense Skulls". Made out of dwarf bone. Despite the coolness of the artifact, could that be a bug, or is a new "feature" in this release?

Yeah it's not a bug.

I recall someone having one of their dwarves having a fell mood and killed a ghost of one of his dwarves before.

So he ended up with an artifact made of ghost?

Is there a way to make books in forts right now? If not there should be at some point, I want to make a library for my Book Keeper to have his office in.

side-effect of migrants coming from historical figures?

Or maybe she's being sent away to your remote little outpost where nobody will think to find her and question her about having, ah, consorted with the queen.

Didn't the blog post say that Skeletons et. al. were replaced with an "Animated" description? IE: Instead of Zombie Cow, you get Animated Cow Corpse.

Looked around in legends for ages. I didnt know they changed there name when disguising, which would make sense I guess. She was one of the first vampires around living over 300 years and having 500+ kills. I might drag her into the military.

Makes sense indeed.

Vamp: What? Urist McWeaver? Nonono, she was a bloody vampire, I'm ahh, Urist Mc...Smith, yea.
Mayor: Well then get ta smithin' already!

Would that prevent ghosts from showing up though?

while I'm not sure if he'll be hostile to other invaders, you can try trapping him in a passageway that will only be opened in the event that hostile show up. Make them path to the necromancer and see what happens (For the first time, just build the cage he's in and connect it to a lever to be released when needed).

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Re: So, what are we calling the new version?

What the hell is it with you all and Valentine's day? Calling it DFVD is just about the most horrible thing you can do to DF. What's next? DFMother'sDay? DFWorldPeaceDay? DFElvesNotMagmaDay? Where I live, Valentine's Day isn't even noticeably celebrated!

Clearly you don't understand the Dwarven concept of Valentine's Day.

Valentine's day is when, instead of just showing up and taking stuff from the Goblins/Humans/Elves, we introduce them to the warm, loving heat of a magma flow.
