So after my last embark failed to be in range of any goblins, I'm trying again in a new world map and came across this.

I made a backup to see what the area around the volcano looks like and here's what I've got.
The very top is two Z-levels up, with the portion on the left plateauing very nicely and in a way that overlooks the volcano. The embark area was made larger than I plan to actually use, but I used the extra size to verify that it goes down in steep cliffs in every direction from here, the 4 Z levels here (2 above, this level, and you can see some spots on top one Z-level down) are the only spots with flat land until I go far further out than the laptop I'm playing on could handle actually running while still having the volcano on the embark.
I also found this in Legends.

Clearly this is a sign that I should create a Dwarven outpost dedicated to the Volcano goddess! Stone shrines dotting the mountain, a sacrificial altar lined with statues depicting her glory! (and any statues of other gods will be SACRIFICED TO APPEASE THE VOLCANOES WRATH ALONG WITH THE CRAFTSMAN FOOLISH ENOUGH TO CARVE IT!)
The downside is that being an island, the only traders I'll ever get will be the Dwarf mountainhomes, so no elves or humans or goblins to sacrifice to her glory, though it does mean that aside from wildlife, the odd megabeast, or me breaching the caverns, I should have all the time in the world to build.
So, thoughts? Should I do this? Any ideas for what specifically to build, or what customs I should impose? (like, yearly or seasonal sacrifices or such?)
