I am convinced that this attack was politically motivated. All people hurt or killed in the attack were politically important.

Well, violence does happen in france, but a madman taking a gun and going on a rampage is a very rare events. Not like in the US.

I would rather have the occasional shooting over mass riots with looting, violence, murder, and vandalism that is incredibly expensive to clean up. And do you even live here? Cause the stereotypical gun toting American doesn't exist.

My point was that he wasn't insane enough to lose a concept of fight or flight. He killed himself so as not to suffer at the hands of most likely torturers.

He was insane but not insane enough to let himself be captured.

He was a fanatic but he wasn't fanatically brave.

Would be any consolation if I told you I think your a great person?

Yes. Yes it would.

Ah, but it was specifically stated that if the Lord were not 'with them', they would lose. When the Lord was supporting them, they enjoyed continuous victories, except for when they faced chariots of iron which directly countered the divine power.

Besides, chariots were stupid easy to counter and were only good on very flat plains. That they were used in a valley and won despite all this...

However, if God was making his people win without them having any actual capacity as soldiers, that would explain why they crumple as soon as he's not looking.

Wait, maybe God is weak to valleys?

I'm gonna guess that G-d didn't play that big of a roll in the taking of Israel than people think since several of the tribes lost. And I guess they would crumple if he wasn't looking.

Hitler was insane. We get that. But he wasn't crazy enough to be fanatically brave as indicated by his suicide.

That's why I don't think it's a possibility.

And I am aware of how crappy the Daily Mail is.

Is Shades a Christian? If so he and I are pretty much the only ones here.

But yes I believe that there are indeed miracles. Although not as many due to a lack of a need for G-d to prove his existence and power.

Where it gets REALLY weird is when he starts talking about Atlantic supermen. I'm not even joking.

Hitler was insane. He searched for Atlantis, tried to steal the Shroud of Turin. So much insanity.

I'm going to guess that Hitler's religious views and justifications, at least publicly, were whatever was most politically advantageous at the time, especially considering what movement he belonged to.

Most likely the correct answer.

I would have to go with the second, as I generally hold that thing that happen are worse then things that don't

For example, the Holocaust was worse then everything the Zerg has done.
Well, Hitler's personal justification for the Holocaust was apparently a single verse in Matthew, where the people of Jerusalem get Pilate to agree to crucify Jesus by telling him to "let his (Jesus's) blood be upon us and all our children." I'm still not entirely clear what your point is, though.

To start I would like it be known that I am aware of how old this is.

I don't think that's true. Because Hitler was a pagan if I'm not mistaken. He said that the Jews greatest folly was that they elevated themselves above nature.

General Discussion / A Problem In Egypt
« on: January 09, 2011, 01:37:28 am »
On New Years day a bomb was set off in or near a Christian church. A group with ties to Al-Qaieda has been suspected. And over the next several days there were mass riots between the Christians and the Muslims. The situation is bad. Very bad. This could degenerate into an Al-Qaeda war on Christianity in the Middle East. Which will probably drag a super power or two in with it.

Your take on this?

Note:This thread is for the purpose of discussing this situation, if you enter this thread you will have to keep yourself on a tight leash, this will not turn into a flame war, if I see something that I think is or is going to be a problem then it's will be considered gone.

This gave me an interesting idea. The oil from all that BP crap has contaminated the water. I think this is a terrible idea and I don't think so but it's a possibility,

I may be wrong, but i think he is referring to this part of the bible:
And the LORD was with Judah; and he drave out the inhabitants of the mountain; but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron
Therefore iron>god

That was the Israelites that could not conquer them because of the chariots. They were just on foot.

I also support separation of serious and silly discussions.

We just need a political sounding name. Like the black shirts but no so evil.(This is not written for the intention of a response. I don't want a derail.)
