yeah i have the same issue with the world map, it's bound to change.

And the ships are not only dynamic, but changing. You can find a group that levels up a lot and ends up being a force to be reckoned with.

Allrighty, it's been long enough since I last popped on.

Update, we've been SUPER hard at work on gameplay progression, now it's not just a series of loose modules, you can actually start and end a game, albeit with limited content.

Mousing over to the tavern, I can hire pirates using my limited supply of money, I use it to equip them, as well as purchase food and new blocks for my ship.

I plot a course on the large world map, each red blip is a possible SEA encounter, with GREEN being islands.

A small enemy ship! As neither of us have cannons, we proceed to board them and loot their ship!

Here we are grappling onto them, once dead we can loot them, get more pieces and money and essentially build up my crew!

Ok guys. I just PLAYED the current build. You heard me, PLAYED it. It's no longer a mish-mash of modules that look cool, they function together as a game. You can go into a town, purchase ship parts and then build it. Take your captain and stock the ship with food, sail to one of about a thousand randomly generated islands (hoping it's not so far away that you starve to death on the way) and disembark.

Things are shaping up really well!

At 1.0 there'll be all manners of ways to board ships, be it via 1 line, many lines, hook and swing, dinghy's, ladders across boats(planks, you know what I mean).

Vitali is engineering up a whole myriad of new stuff :)

Pixel Piracy just signed publishing rights over to SMP. So I guess I'm back where I started hahaha. Is that a good enough answer ;)

Well, we'll try and see if we can get a healthy modding community. We aren't sure HOW moddable it'll be but at the very least you guys can make new graphics/tilesets etc. And in the worst case scenario we can ret-con moddability in it by throwing money at the screen :D

Contract is in the process of being worked on and signed. Once done I'll say ;). You guys might enjoy this, it's a small dev studio thats FROM this forum that made it big on steam :D

The search for a publisher is NOW OVER. We are tying loose ends as we speak and I will be announcing the studio shortly. You guys might just be surprised ;)
