DF Gameplay Questions / Using Tame Creatures in my Arena

Is it possible to force the military to fight with a tamed creature/s.  I know i can have them just outright kill them but do they fight back at all or is there a way to un-tame them?

Also do creatures become tame after a period of time in a cage or do i have to tame them in a kennel?

First time trying out an arena and I'm hoping to use it as a way of making migrants prove themselves before letting them into the fort, that and also training up the military in a bit more of an exciting way.

Is there a comprehensive list of weapon (and armor) types and materials that compares the effectiveness as weapon type and/or armor penetration/ naked effectivness in a simple format?

I remember a thread about it but I can't seem to find it again, search is being decidedly unhelpful today.

DF Gameplay Questions / Preventing fish getting into a reservoir, is it possible?

Been trying to find a way to connect a river to an underground reservoir and drowning chambers. I have noticed that fish will keep getting through grates, bars and fortifications. Is there anyway of keeping fish contained in 1 area of my system.
