Blood freezes into chunks. It's not really anything to worry about although you'll have trouble cleaning it up.

Fun trick I recently learned:  In Firefox, you can hit escape to make the animated images on the page stop animating.  I just checked Internet Explorer, and it works there too.  I don't know about other browsers.

O mighty Mattasmack, we implore you, enlighten us further with your received techgnosis.

I haven't been this pleased about learning a computer-related trick since I tried out the cheat code for Windows 95.

Well the first two waves are hard-coded to arrive, regardless of population cap. That doesn't seem like a bug to me, just an aspect of the game.

I started a new nanofort. My favourite design layout- 9 11x11 squares surrounded by a 3x wide corridor- fits perfectly into the 48 tiles I have to work with. It's beautiful. Just making an enormous perimeter wall around the outside now, and digging through the aquifer. :') brings a tear to my eye...

Barons are just as productive as anyone else in the fort.

Hell, even my queen keeps busy hauling junk around.

Where do people get this idea that nobles are useless?

It will show P even if the goblins are hostile. I don't know what it would take to spawn a goblin caravan.

Played Golden Axe much, Eric Blank?

EDIT- No wait, am I thinking about Altered Beast? I always get those two confused.

Built my tribute to Black Mage

Everything's sort of ho hum right now. I need to find something cool to do.

I'm building a mosaic of Black Mage using paved roads.

I'm currently having a chicksplosion. I've posted this in the fan art thread, but since it accurately describes what's currently going on in my fort, I'll post it here too.

Of course, you don't really need to link it to a lever. But, the only other option is a goblin or a water repeater. They aren't hypothetically speaking difficult to set up, but I've never bothered, personally.

I've built a danger room in my fort for the sole purpose of killing pets. Just waiting until my pet semetary is completed...

No, really. What are floors good for? It makes sense to put all that extra labour onto the construction of a walled city. We can't spare a stone for trade. I consider the mason corps a civilian branch of the military. They don't fight, but they certainly make a valuable contribution to our defense. Why would anyone want to get rid of stone?

I'm just saying that paved roads don't use up as much stone as the equivelant in constructed floors. When you've got over 12000 stones, you don't worry about running out. Seriously how can you run out of stone? Certainly building large overland constructions is great for defense, and I've noticed the more constructions you build the better your FPS gets (maybe by lowering the number of stones the game keeps track of or limiting pathing somehow, idk. I could be wrong, but I swear I've noticed it.)

Building floors is good for getting rid of stone. Paving is not.

Roads are pretty much useless, it makes much sense to keep the path to your depot clear with weapon traps.

Try taking them out in adventurer mode. One thing you could try to make it easier is to embark a new fort nearby, dig down to the ampersand plugs, and make a suit of shiny blue armour and weapons, then abandon the fort. Have your adventurer pick up the blue stuff, and then attack the goblins. Then, possibly remembering to leave the blue stuff behind in your fort, and reclaim.
