It sure felt more rewarding having 20 legendary soldiers after years of fighting sieges and sparring on my last map, but the end result is still the same: soldiers no goblin can possibly defeat.

So i just found a volcano in adventure mode. I could swear it wasn't there when i was last looking at the embark map 20 years ago. The world has probably a lot of high volcanic activity squares due to generation parameters. Will new volcanoes actually pop up on the map as the years pass?
I could have just missed it, because of a nearby human settlement or something but the next hamlet is two squares away on the adventure mode travel map (the zoomed out map).
Is a square on the adventure mode quick travel screen = one embark square?

edit:
I found the solution, there's a cave in the same region tile so it just shows the cave instead of the volcano icon, that's why i missed it.

Every container in the hospital will create a store item in hospital job whenever the zone drops below the set amount. Say you have 10 chests/bags in the hospital zone and its sitting at 100000/90000 cloth. Two dwarfs start to dress wounds each taking a piece of cloth it will go down to 80000/90000 and you will end up with with 180000/90000 soon. Then when they finish there's no room in the hospital containers and they run away with their cloth (which won't be used in crafting anymore anyway as its not 10000 full units) to the cloth stockpile. Probably the best solution would be to just make stockpiles for all hospital stuff but soap in the hospital and have it stock soap exclusively (because of the soap bug).

Almost died to a dark freak who decided to wrestle me and broke my left hip. I passed out from pain. When i woke up half of my 8 companions who i had just properly equipped with dfusion were dead, and the rest were unconscious but one hammerman whom the freak was beating with a leather robe he had probably taken from someone while i was passed out. Luckyly he didn't wrestle me again so i could cleave him in two.

For breaking free from wrestling i need higher wrestling and strength or only strength?

If you go for a 'munchkin' outfit like that make sure the soldiers a set to replace clothing not over clothing (toggle with (r) i think on equip screen). Also I'm not sure about this but i think the wiki is still missing some information or fortress armor rules aren't 100% = arena rules, as sometimes the third mailshirt or something won't fit for my soldiers. Try removing some stuff (you don't really need 5 cloaks anyway 2 or 3 should be enough), and see how it goes.

Oh after writing this i just saw you have socks in your uniform, well dwarves are often (always) too dumb to realize they go under the boots. A workaround is to add socks and boots twice (in the order socks boots socks boots, dunno if it matters tho) which will result in cancel equipment spam but you should end up with soldier with a sock and a boot on both feet.

Two try and add my 2 cents: it is believed that equipping multiple shields gives multiple xp for every block but i think equipping multiple weapons doesn't enhance xp gain since only one is used per attack.

One plant is processed to 5 leaves, if you use potash the average stack of plants will be around 7 plants (maximum 9 i think). So you can get bags with 35-45 leaves (25 with legendary grower without fertilization). That won't beat elephant meat (5 value vs quarry bush's 2) but it will mean more meals and if a dwarfs likes quarry bushes he'd get a happy thought. Dwarven syrup is another decent filler choice i you have the wood/surplus barrels).

Aluminum battle axe is meh, since the rest of the material properties aren't very good (too elastic). I didn't even try it out on my adventurer, grabbed a named masterwork candy axe instead. That fort actually managed to make an artifact candy spear a few years later, but i found that spears are rather crappy in adventure mode, so i didn't use that either yet. And the mandates well, the duchess only demanded brass of which i had plenty and she suffocated from a syndrome rather soon anyway and the mayors were normally reasonable as well.

Equipment mismatch can also happen when a pair of masterwork (or of a better metal) boots or gauntlets is completed and every soldier (or only two?) try to upgrade, one gets the left gauntlet and then is stumped as the other soldier took the right, now he's confused as he already took off both old gauntlets. Sometimes they fail to put on another gauntlet (you usually find out when you find a soldier without a hand in the hospital after a siege). It also happens with marksdwarfs whenever you make ammo (same problem there the new bolts are assigned to the squad every dwarf with an empty quiver tries to refill by the time the last soldier gets to the forge the bolts are already taken).

meat has a value of 2 which would then be multiplied (i think) with the animal multiplier (x1 for common animals x5 for elephants is the highest non exotic 15x for dragon meat would be the highest).
Unless you weren't asking for the literal value, in that case my answer would be the value is that it can be aquired easily (on non evil biomes by a hunter/butcher) and that it can be eaten raw.

Nevermind i just added the nobreathe tag to dwarfs to allow me to stop drowning and get out. Yeah cheap i know, but I'm not doing the whole find fortress get equip skill up process any time soon again.
