This looks like an interesting idea - I'm going to keep an eye out for it when you're ready with a playable version. In the meantime, good luck with kickstarter!

that's too bad. Also, I find 'sassing' an awesome word.

Heh... those rewards guarantee the game would crash and burn, indeed. No one likes the idea of playing a game where someone will always beat you because they're rich and willing to shell out $10k to the game's development.

Hm... so the consensus of what I hear is 'play them for the game, not for the story', since I've yet to find anyone who is more then grudgingly OK with the ending of the series (or at least the third game), and I generally hear more bad then good about anything but the gameplay of (parts) of the games.

That's too bad, I normally consider Bioware one of the best game makers, so it's sad to see one of their own-universe offerings fall off so badly.

At least with slow metabolism, food and water aren't a major issue. I was making sure to top myself off, but I think my character could do two days of strenuous hiking before becoming thirsty. It probably wouldn't be bad if hunger and thirst increased faster, but I'd suggest that the first search area should always contain a container (plastic shopping bag even), a few food items and a canteen with water in it to give new(er) players a better start.

We might want to compile a 'combine' list. For example, wood + twigs + lighter (with lighter fluid) = fire (good for those chilly nights if you don't have good clothing yet!)

I tried fire + pan + condensed soup, but didn't get a 'warm the soup' option.

One thing I'd like to see changed: If liquids and appropriate containers are on the ground, liquids should go into the container. It doesn't make sense that you find an empty lighter and a magically floating glob of lighter fluid that you can scoop back into the lighter.

Not of necessity. At least with a medical background and some healing nanobots in your bloodstream, the rest & recover option takes you from mortally wounded to healthy in only a few turns.

That's... really, really bad.

I know it may seem like your Council is out to get you, but it's merely a scientific experiment. The goal of the experiment is to find out how many full-stack armies it takes to cause a full army under your masterful command to lose. The betting pool is currently centered on 24 armies (2-deep ring around your army) of post-reform Romans supported by elephants, spartan and chariots.

For a lighter offering, Necronator is fairly fun - you're a necromancer sending your army of undead to destroy the world, land by land.

What potential allies? Bide our time for now, but if they send ships toward Sol, blast them, then camp the jump point. If they're stupid enough to use the gate for military transit, it shouldn't be difficult. If/when we've built up our own forces, smash their fleet and take their homeworld. To that end, I suggest developing boosted radiation output warheads, a missile for them, and a fighter to fire them.

I disagree. If you want to take and keep their homeworld, it helps if they're not all dying of radiation poisoning. Yes it makes it easier to hold it, but they you have to deal with a very protracted campaign of freighter-hauling everything to a world that isn't blanketed in nuclear winter for the next century.

Heh, I would love to see the state of one of the recovered games.

Also, I bet at least one of those balloons will be shot repeatedly to get it to land closer to the enterprising gamer with a rifle and good aim.

I don't know, I'm interested in seeing these "doom-armies", especially since I don't think I've ever seen Stworca lose... to anything.

At the moment, they are a fine military force to be sure, but I have heard rumors of a certain Marius and his talks of a more professional army.

((Point of interest, Gaius Marius was born in 157 BC, more then a century from the historical date of this campaign's start.  If you hear rumors of his talks of a professional army then you must keep the company of very impressive soothsayers indeed.))

They are indeed paid very well to predict coming events, and should their predictions not come to pass, they're asked to predict how they'll die.

If they get it right, they get a second chance!

My fellow Senators, the question of the Romans is a difficult one - surely they are a potential threat at the moment, and deserve only to be crushed and enslaved by the might of our ever-victorious army, but we must also consider the needs of our finest military mind, Duke Mountainjoy.  At the moment, they are a fine military force to be sure, but I have heard rumors of a certain Marius and his talks of a more professional army.  I believe we should wait until the Romans have listened to this man and introduced his reforms before we unleash our army on them, that they might bravely go to the Underworld having fought to their utmost.

No, let us instead focus on Carthage at the moment, and then turn our fierce attentions towards another foe - the Egyptians or the Spanish barbarians?
