So far so good, I've gotten to the point where I have more then enough money that I'm funding my own exploration/salvaging missions. I've started poking the nearer Remnant systems and I just took down my first (damaged) Remnant battle station. I lost a Lasher doing so, but picked up 3 Alpha cores, which I know TT will throw all the money at me for. Currently I'm just grinding up my TT reputation so I can get access to their military market and start outfitting ships properly. My fleet has a definite lack of frigates, but carriers are covering that nicely - I just wish I could get some better designs then Broadswords, but I've found throwing 5 squadrons of those at remnant frigates also works, with enough patience.

The Medusa used to be my hands down favorite Destroyer class. Two of them operating together could normally tag team even Capitals with a bit of work. The only problem was getting ahold of one, as originally TTC wasn't too keen on handing them out without a fight.

((Sorry for the long delay, everyone. We're back in business with the stealth mission. For now, Kal is going to fade into extra party space for skill checks and combat, and can fade back into reality for roleplaying. When Dwarfy has more time and can fill in the character sheet again, Kal will be ready to rejoin combat.))

Zeratuu follows the conversation with difficulty, but discerns that Steven is planning to sneak around the clearing with the goblins on his own. Eyeing Master and Rusty, Zeratuu finally tugs on Etoile's sleeve, points at him, then at Rusty and gives him a stern glare that he is to stay with the goblin-obliterating construct or else.

She then follows quietly after Steven as they sneak through the woods until they reach the opposite side of the clearing.

((*roll* Zeratuu - Stealth 1d20 + 13 : 18
*roll* Steven - Stealth 1d20 + 5 : 21))

Distracted by the fire and their jabbering, the goblins don't notice them at all. The two pause for a minute when a goblin enters the clearing, adjusting its loincloth and joins the others at the fire. Passing by where it had been, the sharp smell of goblin urine tells why it had left the clearing. Finally, everyone was in position, and Zeratuu looks at Steven inquiringly.

So I've gotten back into playing, and I'm enjoying how far the game has come since the last time I played it.

That said, I've done some research and still have a few questions.

1 - Some people like to (jokingly) point out that you should use [Redacted] fighters... now looking through the wiki, there's plenty of [Redacted] to read about, but precious little mention about weapon systems...

2 - Is there a short list of hulls that are generally considered 'good'? I know some like the Hound were (at least originally) more or less pinatas that you punch for their loot rather then a ship you should consider using.

3 - I noticed that they fixed ballistic weapons (at least most of them) to no longer have to worry about ammo, thank Mork (or Gork), and a few missile launchers are now the same way. Are there weapons (also including the energy weapons) that are generally in a sweet spot regarding damage/flux vs CP needed?

Probably because it's far easier to relate to a fellow biped then it is to some three legged, three-armed monstrosity that looks like a cross between a cockroach, squid and a spider and all you want to do is BURN THAT DIRTY XENOS SCUM.

This is true. Unless they upgraded it since the last time I played, as long as you can handle the doomstack with most of your fleet, you can split off a small part of it and go on a whirlwind tour of the enemy systems and blow up their star bases. Once that's done, the most they'll get in reinforcements is a trickle of corvettes.

So i was looking at the starsector discord, and someone found this. An intact (aside from the glitched sensor array) paragon, just drifting in space.

So... conquered any star systems lately?

This discussion will never leave these halls.

That said, you both disturb me greatly...

((Yes, you ended up burning through the rest of your 1st level spells cleaning up from the fight with the undead. You still have cantrips, but otherwise it's morning star time.

That said, if he's definitely against fighting, that's also an option. Just because there's monsters there doesn't mean that you need to murder the hell out of them. :P Just that you can.))

625
((Is everyone agreed on attacking the goblins? If so, do you want to formulate a plan, or just surprise them from the edge of the clearing?

For example, Zeratuu can sneak in close for a sneak attack.))

((With the DE yards expanded by 1000t, is there any interest from the admiralty for a larger escort design yet?))

((Oh, really? That's entirely my bad, I didn't think that Aurora gave any free sensor capability at all. I say build the sensor free versions, as that reflects the RP the best.))

((*starts generating goblins*. As a side note, if you can fill in at least basic stats Dwarfy (str/dex/con/wis/int/cha), I'd appreciate it for the next battle. I can figure out saves, AC and such from there.))

Thanks for providing the content summaries of the Q&A sessions - I really appreciate being able to skim the highlights like this.

((I'm fully expecting us to eventually capture a prisoner which Rusty will try to intimidate information out of. He'll roll really high and instead accidentally smash the squishy.))

((Ah, yes, you're correct. It was apiks, guessing you'd accidentally pop one like a blister.))
