Waiting for a goblin siege to slaughter is boring. I'm also trying to entice the elves into attacking.

Just lost 5 dwarves to two squads of goblins.

The solution of course is to capture the enraged camel and unleash it upon goblins in an arena.

Finishing up my trap hallway filled with green glass serrated disk stacks of 5 and a bunch of cage traps. Then I have 2 spear traps on repeaters going off at the end.

I train my dwarfs with captured goblins and water buffalos.

Nothing like slaughtering elves with my military to make my day happier.

God damned treehuggers.

My militia commander went into a martial trance and killed an entire pack of zombie wolfs and a goblin snatcher SINGLEHANDEDLY without a scratch.

My main entrance is usually a long corridor filled with war animals and serrated disk traps.

Rather large rooms, to be sure, certain to make happy dwarves.
I don't have exact numbers but I've found that big rooms with nothing in them seem to be much less valuable than tiny ones with really fancy stuff. Big rooms are OK, but what I'm getting at is that I've found that "raw space" isn't worth that much in and of itself so don't expect bedrooms to be that valuable just for being big.

I'm just glad it's not one of those 1x3 designs that lazy people like to use.

Hey, my lazy design is a *1x4* design... much superior to 1x3 designs! Actually 1x4 is more lazy due to it being easier to designate with shift+direction....
Well I use a lazy 1x20 design. Raw space may not be worth much, but it is pretty easy to produce when you have 3 or 4 legendary miners.

On an unrelated note, I see you have evil grass. Does it still change color eye-searingly often, or is it ok now?

It's still pretty trippy.

I've never had pathfinding lag and I've had a fortress with over 150 dwarfs before. I guess my single core CPU pays off this time.

My plan is to isolate the useless dwarfs from the regular dwarfs and use the useless dwarfs as cannon fodder in the event of an attack. This should in theory keep the tantrum spirals down/isolated from the regular dwarfs as I tend to use 1/1 meeting areas.

Yeah but most of my forts use the closet with a bed method so I thought I'd change it up a little bit. It adds an element of challenge anyways.

Oh and I have a common room for useless migrants, Bedrooms are only used by the people who are actually useful to keep them happy.

I know. I usually use the second Z-level for indoor farming and the third for workshops.
