"Go away, we don't want any!" Bryn tells the entity beyond the door, and goes back to looking through her stock to be certain there aren't any other things hiding among it.

"I said who is it!" Bryn shouts at the door, growing a little annoyed with everything.

(Hey, Bryn is FEMALE! So gender centrism I swear...)

"I think that's a slime mold! I'll give you five sou to catch it!"

And with that, Bryn goes to the door. "Who is it?"

I am Bryn, a farmer's marketeer, buying produce from farmers in the summer, meat in the winter, and eggs all year around. I move grain to the millers, sugar cane to the distillery, and so on. I really really enjoy breads of all kinds. The most terrifying moment of my life was when a bandit stole my meager store of change; thankfully must of my money was tied up in goods, then. Someday, I intend to expand into wool and other textiles. I am unmarried, but looking for a husband.

Name: Bryn
Gender: Circle with a plus
Age: Prime
Weight: Average
Class: Farmer's Marketeer
Five items bought: 20 dozen eggs, 10 gallons of milk, 100 bushels of grain, 20 bushels of early corn, 20 bushels of early blazer apples
Five Abilities: Shrewd Dealer, well regarded, mathematically shrewd, very knowledgeable about agricultural products, literate.
Five Defects: Mousy build, near-sighted, must pay guild dues, must pay market rent, tax audited often.

Life Advice / Re: USA election system

Well, at the heart of the whole political process is corn. You'll notice that the Iowa caucus comes first, because Iowa is where the corn is at. Then there is the New Hampshire primary, where all the cornbread is at.

You can mine six tiles from the river, magma, or chasm safely. Trust me, I've mined out the whole mountain before, and it works. The trick is to watch the banks and not the wall. I've had trouble with that from time to time, and had to throw up an emergency support.

DF Gameplay Questions / Re: Cave river no longer floods...

I had been suspecting the magma river myself, after having this problem with a few different holds. Each time the flooding stopped, it seemed to happen after the magma flood. Reclaiming the hold, though, seemed to undo the problem and there would be normal flooding.

Weight does not equate to value, I fear. You won't be able to see what value really is until you get a broker. I tend to trade crafts, which you can usually trade 2 for 1 for meat; presuming normal quality.

Go to the (J)ob menu, and select the dwarf you want to be an architect with C

Architecture can be found in (P)references > (L)abor. It should be at the bottom of the list.

Kobolds seem to ignore traps, but Goblin child snatchers; if seen, appear to fall victim to stonefall traps.

I enabled them to hold everything. But no dice.

DF Gameplay Questions / Gathering fallen weapons

Of late, Kobolds have been trying to break into my hold and steal from the horde. They get what they deserve. In the process, they often leave shiny copper daggers behind. While I would like to have these daggers, my dwarves had no interest in picking them up, even after setting up some weapon racks.

The problem is, I have four such daggers on my road, which seems to disuade humans from bringing in their wagons.

Thus, how do I move them?
