Bowie, you're not allowed to seal off the top area. Caverns, you can.
spring
Well I'm back. Why does bowie have adamantine when I get bronze? I'm ordering our armorers to make me some adamantine armor too.
srsly bowie?
Wow, this place has changed. Just got here, warwolf siege. Nothing much to worry about, they didn't even wear armor! And apparently someone has been careless enough to let us get to the point we're being ambushed by kobolds. They were easy to take care of though.
I think we had this forgotten beast. Poisonous bite? I don't care, it never got to even attack. The thing had feathers or something. Since it was poison, I don't really want our butchers to get near that thing. Then again, does it really matter if they die?
___
Oh, and a giant cave spider was spotted underground, but it wandered off. Some recruit has come back to haunt us, somebody seems to have forgotten to engrave a slab in his honor.
___
... I just don't know what to do. Nothing left to do, I guess, apart from preparing for future attacks.
srsly, what's left to do?
___
Oh. Ambush. How nice. The thresher (stukos?) is dead. Well, I've decided to name my copper shield "the incense of trampling". How fitting, it's covered in elephant blood. I seem to have gotten 50 "notable" kills. Notable? Half of them were pathetic elves.
___
Well, I suppose I can make a graveyard. I don't care if they die, but those ghosts are really annoying.
___
Well, it's almost the end of spring. We finally have an enemy.
Frost ettin, blood cyclopes, eldjotun, rime giant, greater ogre... WHAT IS THIS?
At least I have something to do. Well, I'm creating a personal unit of whoever doesn't need to do anything, they'll be equipped in bronze. More swords means more death.
___
A great quadruped of vomit. Sometimes I think this world is trying to insult us.
___
Well, the giants are approaching the gates. Nightwing cowards are still sitting back, and the frogmen seem to be afraid to get into the water. Ooh look, minotaurs have decided to ambush us.
___
Looks like bowie did something right. Those walls split up the enemy, so we can kill them one by one. I don't even know what's happening anymore, I'm just stabbing.
___
DIE YOU STUPID GIANT DIE.
Katana has been slashing at a giant's head for 20 pages.
___
Bowie's taking care of all the incoming, while we're having problems with these things. It's skull was shattered and it lived, apparently... I hope these things bleed out. From now on, my personal guard will also be equipped with silver war hammers for destroying these giants. Meanwhile, the nightwings have been sitting back.
___
No casualties, all enemies dead. Apart from the frogs and nightwings.
For now, we're falling back. The nightwings and frogmen are still out there, but don't seem to want to fight. I'm not pushing my luck and sending everyone out after such a long battle.
___
Summer
We need more soldiers. I'm recruiting all our wannabe masons, and that hauler jeweler guy to form a new squad. Also ordering the production of more armor. Hopefully more soldiers will mean we actually survive the next wave of enemies. Our only real problem is the nightwings, they refuse to die. Our hammerblade equipped dwarves should at least be able to disable them while the real soldiers bisect them.
... In this time of war, is there really a need for spearmen?
And apparently a planter has been possessed, and claimed a glass furnace. Leave him to die.
___
Today is a historic day.
22nd galena. late summer.
The day secrettomb was free of sieges.
___
Well, I'm calling this sword the curious gifts. Don't really care about the other one, although it's killed 15 times as many enemies.
___
Multiple named weapons. An enemy general is dead.
... looks like marksdwarves are useful after all.

The siege:
The nightwings began by slowly advancing. They have a squad of marksmen, and 2 elite bowmen, but not too much of a problem. So far.
As the nightwings slowly advance, they roughly approach our gate, and the "J" siege comes. Blood cycploes, frost ettins, greater ogre and eldjotun. A few seconds later, frog men attack.
I create a unit that basically wears full bronze, along with a dual wield sword. Swords/axes are probably going to be the weapons winning this war, due to the fact that nightwings need to be bisected. The stronger creatures sit there, while the frogmen charge mindlessly. At least after this war, we'll have a lot of steel to melt down.
At the chokepoint, 3-5 ambushes are uncovered, so I have no idea what's going on, apart from the fact our troops are ok. And some poor kobold thief is caught in the carnage. And a snatcher was caught... ON THE ROOF. ^.^"
Also, looks like the creator was right. We need blunt weapons to get through these guys' armor. The rime giants just refuse to die, every part in red, blood everywhere.
