Bunny scene = Night of the Lepus
Holy crap I remember that movie, from years ago, that brings back some memories.

I found this, translated from german to danish, guess I'll try to translate it to english. It's written from the perspective of a handicapped man in Nazi Germany.
That's actually very well known. The quote even has a wikipedia entry. I don't think the original author was handicapped, Martin Niemöller. He was priest who initially supported Hitler, but became disillusioned due to Nazi moves against the protestant religions, and was imprisoned for 8 years until the end of WWII. Maybe being used today to highlight the plight of the handicapped? Without your source I have no idea. The quote became famous in the 1950's.

First they came

@Vector: The oldest pictures have the best laughing/salad women. (women's health magazines by the looks of it). Nobody's been able to top the original photos.

Just heard about this.
It is awesome.

That's actually quite clever. No matter what happens, Notch removes the lawsuit problem :) He also ends up with massive publicity for his new game no matter what the name is.

General Discussion / Re: I like anime, do you like anime?
« on: August 20, 2011, 11:27:12 am »
considering all the heavy shit I just read/watched, I think I need a break.

I watched and old 90's anime called "All Purpose Cultural Cat Girl Nuku Nuku" the other day, coz the weird title interested me. It was actually pretty entertaining. I watched the 12 part TV version, there's an older OVA i haven't seen which has good reviews too, and a more recent retconned OVA (nuku nuku dash) that got bad reviews. They took out the bit about her being a catgirl but kept "catgirl" in the title. Which is really stupid.

Mentioned it because i searched and it's never been mentioned here before. I think it's a pretty funny / lighthearted series, as long as you can cope with the fact that every character (bar one) is (by design) incredibly stupid and silly anime cliches taken to the logical extreme (fully lampshaded and acknowledged though, lots of 4th wall breaking). they've got a "book girl" who makes Yuki Nagato look like a light-weight. This is a truly hardcore bookgirl!

has lots of jokes subverting old mecha and mahou shoujo series tropes. Though there was one really annoying character I would shoot if I could ;) Nuku Nuku looks human but has a cat's brain, so they even subvert the catgirl concept ;) She does has retractable mecha nekomimi though

Something a little different from the huge crop of slice of life / romance / harem comedies you get today.

Yeah looks like it's multiplayer/online according to the info on their forums, so you can create servers for people to share/adventure

EDIT: Not sure where "dating sim" idea comes from, I didn't get that?? Maybe your refering to some quest thing on the video?

That's the beauty of open source. Go fix it ;) And personally I wouldn't say it's worst thing I've ever seen.

It's an open-source 3d dungeon crawl game with minable blocks, looks kinda cool. Still in early stages though.

Sample gameplay video (an older version)

You can get it here (latest version), they have a forum too:

They're after people to help out with content and coding and stuff :)

Serial Killer remembers neighbour as "Quiet and Unsuspecting"

Ein, you've got 2x the average posts per day as me, and I hardly think of myself as a lurker.

Everything I say is sigged.  There's no reason to ask if it's ok anymore!
Is it ok if I sig this?
I'm sigging this too.
Sigged!

Dwarves will automatically haul animals to an animal stockpile. You can control what types of animals go into each stockpile you make, this can help with sorting. You can set each stockpile for whether it will accept empty cages too.

To tame them you need the animal in a cage, and build a kennel building. Tamable animals will appear in the menu of the kennel. For some animals, you need to edit the raws (in the save file, or before worldgen) to give them [PET] tag (it replaces the [PET_EXOTIC] tag) so they appear in the tame list. A dwarf with animal trainer labor enabled will feed the animal some food, which will cause them to become tame. After this, the tame animal can be released from the cage.

You release animals from a cage by assigning them to a pasture or other holding area, or selecting the cage and un-selecting the animal from the "assign" list.

---

To put them in a pit, make an animal stockpile near the pit, set to take the type of animal (with custom settings on the stockpile) you want. You then select the pit, and add the particular animal to the pit's assigned creatures. A dwarf will come along and remove them from the cage, and try and drop them in the pit. Wild animals may escape. Undead will almost definitely escape. Most Goblins will not escape. Escape means they don't fall down the pit. So it's a good idea to have some guards near the top of the pit to deal with this when it happens.

---

"Building" cages is done through the key combo b-j (i think). Once it asks what cage you want to build, you can hit 'x' to get and expanded list, this will show you what animal is in each cage. A built cage can be linked to a lever, for automated animal release. This is good for arenas if you don't want to use the pitting method. Personally I prefer to use pits because building cages and linking levers takes too long. I use this last method rarely, or only for making a Zoo / display area.

You can also mod the stone layers in the raws, with a little editing you can have worlds consisting of what you want, and only what you want. For me, that's getting rid of the bland grey rock in favour of Marble. Marble everywhere. And layers of gold. That's whole gold layers instead of the rock.

So, why not start playing with creating your own worlds to order?

Remove random rolls so the game is determinative, and make the turns concurrent. Then, you both plan a turn at the same time, then sync your games and it resolves the "moves" at the same time. As said above this would be a whole new game basically.

I seriously think I got turned around somewhere in Anvil. .P

But yay. Everything working now besides some small things.

Care to tell what the mods are?

I get the feeling that would require a thread of it's own. I'm interested in whether old Morrowind mods work for this or it's just Oblivion mods?

I keep on vomiting in my mouth.
That's no good but I have to wonder where you normally vomit other than your mouth?
