As much as I love the game, I don't want to purchase it because the developers don't exist any more. If I buy a game, I want to support the people who actually made it.

There is no single player campaign, no. I bought this over the Steam summer sale. I think we should try setting up gaming times for everyone to try it out. I can play tonight or any time tomorrow. Then I'm busy until Saturday afternoon.

This man is an absolutely brilliant guitarist.

I'm downloading this now, and will probably launch up either tonight or tomorrow afternoon.

That was such a good deal, I couldn't pass it up. I bought it, and I'm debating about the Quake pack too. I actually have never played it, is it worth it?

General Discussion / Re: Communism Vs Capitalism (Ideology)
« on: June 25, 2011, 08:23:08 pm »
Go go gadget 19 year old idealist teen thoughts:

What do you mean exactly by 'old way'? If you're thinking to the roots of humanity with wandering tribes; That really is the idea of communism. From my own observations, I'd say that communism fails because it requires people to be compassionate and helpful generally the entire time. Whereas capitalism requires people to be compassionate and helpful only if they feel like it. As time goes on, those requirements become harder and harder to reach. Most of the world is dominated by western ideals and influences. Here in the west, we're born into, grown up in, and live in a system based on competition. From the very beginning we're instilled with the idea that you have to conquer and beat everyone else. That's the only way to success.

To me, that is a disgusting system. One that limits the full range of human ability and is damaging to emotional and mental health. This is my current thoughts on the subject for the most part.

1. Compassion
2. Knowledge/research in the sense of knowing what is going on around you both personally and in the world, and looking in the connections/causes of everything.
3. The willingness to accept being wrong and hear new ideas with an open mind.

Jerry? What are you doing here? You have a lot of nerve showing up after what happened in Tijuana.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Also, for me pretty likely. I've told so many Dwarf Fortress stories ever since I found it. Most people walk away if I even mention the word Dwarf or Fortress.

I am currently reading the Thousandfold Thought. Third and final book in the Prince of Nothing series. It's been an interesting read so far, but man does this author put his characters through hell even more than George R.R. Martin does.

When I finish this, I'm thinking about starting on the Malazan Book of the Fallen series. Has anyone here read that?
