i cant find anything like this for advice in the wiki, or any sticky around here, but can people post a bit of a reference guide to "how to" play certain weapon wielders
wrestlers seem to love grabbing a weapon and twisting it away, then breaking arms legs and more?
spear/pikemen try to hit a vital organ early on
axes chop chop chop. Great for chopping things, but bad for anything else. Extremely slow vs enemies with lots of fat or multiple appendages
mace/hammer break bones. Its usually easier than cutting a limb off, and creates less mess. no chance to hit a major artery tho
swords can reliably chop off appendages and stab internal organs, so far my favorite. Humanoids tend to be left handed for some reason
archer/crossbow/throwing is limited by not being able to aim for a specific target. One of the ways old arbelaters went about disabling enemies was shooting ... any appendages off. arms, legs, heads. they had that effect. While arrows arnt nearly as effective, you should be able to go for headshots. My swordsman can do headswipes
another problem, these units should try to keep some distance, even in an ambush. In the middle of a melee they quickly get cheesed (like creamed, but it goes on for longer, yes this is a quote)
Its good to be one but one of the worst henchmen, in my opinion
so i had wrestler, spear, pike, mace, hammer, bow, crossbow, swork and axe.
Lashers... i dont know what to think. They tend to die easily in my games so far so i havnt seen them in action much
did i miss anything? whats best for player in general consensus (top 3?) and whats best for followers (top 3)
btw, is it normal that my pike/spear men go after non offensive creatures while the others lounge about till they return. They are always the ones i find wandering away from the group
