Doesn't sound too good. I'll need some dwarf catchers... a wider than 1-tile-wide floor one z-level down from the floorbomb. So when the deconstructor falls to either side, he'll drop onto those... if he falls forward, then he's goblin bait.

One lasher squad, two swordgob squads, one macegob squad. The lasher squad has a War Leader, even...

EDIT: The project turned into a bridge into my fortress, which is thin, has no handrails, and is ten z-levels above ground. brb, mounting traps
goblins dodging giant green glass cockscrews off the floor will be a fun sight

Eh, I can't seem to think so large... and so above-ground. All I have are simple large rectangular rooms, a single staircase down into the fort until a cavern, and the same staircase is also the spine of a single thin tower I will place barracks in. And then my marksdwarves will shoot at stuff outside, like goblins trying to traverse inside...

If I get Stonesense to work on 31.24, I'll post a screenshot.

So even floors work, huh. That'll be useful.

I'm planning on making a square of floor, then, with a hole directly in the middle. I'll pit a puppy or something through it to attract goblins, then...

...I hope some dwarf won't be standing on the floor when deconstructing.

Does it work? Like, when I build a bunch of walls supported only on a single floor tile... when I deconstruct the floor, then the walls should turn into a cave-in, right?

If not, then my zany scheme against the current goblin siege has failed...

Can I mod zinc to be viable for making bolts?

Precisely. Rivers sound like the only way to get canyon shenanigans. If it's a temperate biome, then it'll freeze over in winter so you can dam it to get a dry canyon.

Killed my first forgotten beast. An easy one... Oquari Dreamsubtle, a 14-ton giant cicada with curly green hair and spitting frozen extract.
Now it's going to be butchered... slowly. It died of a punch to the head, funnily enough.

On the other side, I'm locked in due to goblin siege I can't deal with, and a carpenter just made a pine statue of the goddess of wealth, worth almost 70k dorfbucks. I had to slaughter a puppy for it...

EDIT: GOBLINS BROUGHT LIKE TWO PAGES OF INVADERS, ALL MOUNTED

The dwarves go to the hospital automatically, or are brought to them if they can't walk themselves (two lost feet so far and counting here, damn Cave Crocodiles/Giant Toads and their shaking).

Then you need to wait until the diagnostician bothers to do something...

While prosthetics wouldn't be bad at all. A peg leg would be as funny as it would be useful, and some locked-position gauntlet could let dwarves be less 'armless by allowing them to grip weapons. That's even been done in real life, so it most definitely should be here!

...anyway, I never got any of that. But I do have a woodcrafter that lost a foot and one lower arm. I made him my captain of the guard now... if my dwarves violate mandates somehow, he'll come and bash them with his -larch crutch-.

i'd surely take the mace!
After all, even if it's weaker, it's an artifact lead mace, like the one in adom, it's rare and precious and it surely has some spikes isn't it? Just think of the possibilities!

Big Punch? Gosh... a dwarf having to haul 800 stone of that weapon couldn't catch up to the goblin.

Anyway, the mace is one hell of a good weapon. It's made of lead, which is denser than silver, it's an artifact, it still has only twice as much contact area as a hammer.

But you can't make a training mace...

Speaking of floods, I'm Dabbling. I've encircled my trade depot in a square of pillars with floodgates in between them. Water comes in from above once another lever is flipped. When the elves drown, then I can open those twelve floodgates to let water flow out at high speed...

And if any elves swim up to the door in the water input canal, I'll let them live. And then kill them for flooding the broker's office.

...let's see how will it work out.
