Roll To Dodge / Re: Roll To Villain
« on: April 17, 2013, 04:33:42 pm »
Spoiler: Waitlist! (click to show/hide)

902
Scott, realizing that this is risky at best, puts down the needle.
He instead hmmm's and ahhh's over the nature of the necromantic bond.
Knowing nothing of magic he tries to brute force a half baked hypothesis. If energy is required to raise and bind a persons will to their own, would a feedback of energy allow the wizards body to direct said energy to other pursuits, such as regeneration and immun-o-boosting?

He tries to focus on the bond to his husband and direct the flow of energy back into his suffering body, hopefully directing it to the poor man's immune system

903
Hearing the lack of urgent obedient scampering, Scott sighs again.

Scott examines the boils and sores.
"Better out than in, they say."
He uses a candle or an oil lamp to heat a needle or nail, which he then uses to lance the freshly disinfected wounds. He will keep the rubbing alcohol at the ready.

Edit: A grammatically corrected comma.

904
Scott washes his husbands wounds and applies clean cloth to absorb any fresh seepage and prevent (even more) infection.
Hearing the commotion, he then shouts through the door.
"It would be appreciated if someone would collect and boil strips of willow bark, before delivering the liquid!"

905
The camera pans slowly around the room as Scott mourns, the atmosphere seems almost musical.
"Oh why are you so stubborn my love? Have the god's not taught us that they are capricious? That messing with the threads of their reality only brings gains in the short term, and damnation in the long."

Pray for his forgiveness, citing insanity due to the recent violent loss of a loved one.

OOC: I like the various liberties taken from my background, I really do think it's an improvement to my own half hearted submission, far less in need of a good spell-check too. >.>
I would consider it a favour if you could correct the mistakes copied from my original submission.

IC:
Turns to Morton.
"Guests? Can't you see that we are in the middle of a little crisis here?" he croaks.
A long unnaturally drawn out sigh then emanates.

"Ask if they have any medical experience, if they don't and yet are still relativity insistent invite them in and entertain their wishes. Advise that they take precautions against plague and a number of similar curses of the flesh. Please, also advise them to respect my privacy."

Sorry guys, I haven't felt like updating the RTD for a while, it's not my preferred genre and I haven't put in as much effort into planning  it as I have the one I am currently writing, and even that one has been put on the back burner for a while.

I guess you can consider this discontinued, for now at least, I am sorry for wasting your time if I don't get back to it. =[

Roll To Dodge / Re: The Prosperous West. Leadership Conference.

Miss Enderby, I have no thoughts on our government, I am an artisan and a glorified clerk.
Even with proposals for an elected government, with the hunter in our den I'd expect some heavy gerrymandering.
I suppose we could have a 'emergency council' until our place is secured. Essentially have all of us conspirators take up official positions within the government and vote among us our figurehead, until such time as to when we can afford the luxury of statewide voting.
I will of course apply for the position of the Secretary of Defence or Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Hmmm, he didn't mention the blowhards in the second 'capital', The slavemongers.

I think we may have a fox among our chickens Miss Enderby.

How about a compromise.
Allow the one general to be elected by the people of the newly freed state.
If they are to be defended by someone, it should be by someone they feel has their interests and not their own at heart.

That is rather unfortunate because I already have an army.
I have led it in battle with the union and I have won every time.

I was referring mostly to our colleagues idea of each placing an equal number of officers in the army.

To do so would cause the army to turn on itself.
Who then would take over all command of those generals? One of us had to take the role of commander in chief to co-ordinate the generals in times of war and provide a central command on the frontlined and I am the only military man here to do so.

Every army needs one man to make the final call if the generals disagree.

No, no they don't. Generals tend to be given goals, but are usually free to implement the measures they think they require. Having an equal share of loyalty thus shall not impede efficiency.
I don't think any sane man(or woman) would let an unknown element take total control of the forces separating us from our potential enemies.

Miss Enderby makes a point. Though however, if the men on the ground are swayed by one person or another, our influence would be nixed.
I think we should all contribute an equal number of CO's and NCO's, to prevent a potential military coupe.

As for government, I have not put much thought into it, we have all seen how the system in Washington and the blowhards in Montgomery have threatened the interests of men of property and merit such as us.

913
I will, unless you agree to my hegemony over armament and munitions.

In reply to a Mr A.Reynalds:
I find your lack of perception to our present situation... alarming, for we are a small insignificant power.
Unless we are sponsored by another, either our former masters, the rebels or the French-funded Mexicans will devour us like a pig eats from a trough.
As for expelling foreign businesses, I should remind you that I am not a native. And any attempts to remove either me or my place of business will be met with zealous and overwhelming force.

Place-holder orders may change once the revision is in place.

Friends an neighbours. Our wealth, property and families are under threat by the ongoing climate in this continent. Whilst the suggestion of emancipation is indeed a godly one, the language on both sides can only lead to conflict. Who do you think will be dragged out of their homes to defend either state or slavemonger? Who do you think will have their savings seized to fight a war of fratricide? Who's property will burn as men and musket roam this land? Will we be repayed for such sacrifice? NO!
We must save ourselves in our own secession!
However, whilst prosperous, we are weak. Whilst I would gladly fashion arms for every man in this state, that alone is not enough. We need a protector, as did the Union look to the French, we should look to the British! Who else would see profit in a divided union? Who else would love to see an old enemy fail!? In the name of God, I say it is our only hope of continued prosperity!
Whilst you may despair of such an act, remember, those to the south have claim and means to seize this land. And the French will hardly stay the Mexicans hand for whatever offer we bring forth. In inaction lies our destruction!

Call for my armoury to become the hegemony for the militias and any state conscripts or volunteers.
Demand a formal request to the British Empire for an intervention, as the US did the French during their independence.
Start looking for recruits for a volunteer police-force, pay to dress them in glorious uniforms and arm them in the finest gear to attract more muscle.
