Poults are so small they will only drop skulls on death, so be sure to put craftsdwarf's workshops close to your birdfall.

On the other hand, this is excellent for training bone carvers and having loads of free junk (namely, poult totems) to sell to the caravan.
Wish you could make gear from skulls specifically. Elf skull helms, pauldrons, and all that stuff.

Yep seems to be a bug  accidental design feature with local cavern animalmen becoming friendly after a battle.

I had a female batman hanging around the middle of one of my failes fortresses. She must've liked the forts dwarves to hang around with them. ^^

Didn't carp already have [CAN_LEARN], at least in earlier versions? That was what made them so fearsome, iirc. I assume by your post that the tag was removed in the current version?

Given that you seem to have modded the world pretty heavily, I doubt that would be usable as  a bug report. Try checking the raws to see if you accidentally duplicated any raws or anything like that.
