DF General Discussion / Re: What you DONT want in DF?

Watching that video all the way through is the second to last boss of the internet.

This is the sub boss that taunts you before the windows ad.

That guy creeps the hell out of me. But I love the video, for nostalgia and simply how awful it is.

Dogs don't stop, they'll kill the goblin.

An equipped Goblin will be a match enough for a wardog. You'll lose some dogs, but they're easily replaceable.

You can disarm a prisoner if there in a cage, you know

Why not just have a the room under a retractable bridge? No need for cages then. Much faster, as well.

I'm not sure about specifically de-limbing them, but here's an idea...

]=Wall
X= Floodgate
d=Wardog
+=Floor

Code: [Select]
]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]
]+++++++++++]]]
]+++++++++++Xd]
]+++++++++++]]]
]+++++++++++Xd]
X+++++++++++]]]

The floodgate on the West wall being the exit to the pit of megbeasts.

In game the room should be much longer to accomodate more dogs. When you feel he is adequately crippled, open the West floodgate (which should be closer to your base than the dog room. You should test this first, as it may not work.

That couldn't have been a hallucination. With your history of mental health? No, see if you have clearance enough to materialize a concealable weapon. Go back to the spawning center and hunt down the abomination, it's time to finish the job.

Uh, I've seen him once before. I'd guess a 4/10.

It's neither. Some people are so ignorant.

I know it isn't, I've just always thought of it as that.

Will this be adventure mode compatible? So we can have awsome Mesolithic heros? (Or mass murderers!)

I should hope so.

slap on egg laying on humans and dump my adventuress on a abandon fort just to get this.

now from what I learn these eggs will never hatch due to some stupid relationship blocker still preventing childbirth or so I heard. well at least she can throw those now.

WAIT! throwing your own children??!

epppic

Since they're not fertilized, it's more like throwing your periods.

Is that supposed to be better or worse? Becuase I'd rather be hit with a thrown baby than a glob of flying menstrual blood... It sounds kind of wierd when I say that out loud.

Yesss... This could work nicely. If any ships are coming or going on this island, have your revolution bot smuggle himself and the broken nuclear bomb onto the ship's cargo hold. Have him hold the ship ransom on the grounds that the mutants of Mutant Island be given basic sectoid rights. Of course, this will be a giant bluff. If they find out that the bomb is brokeified, tell Revolution that he must then threaten to either upload himself onto the ship and crash it into the ocean, or shoot everyone and then crash the ship into the ocean... For the revolution!

DF Adventure Mode Discussion / Re: I just thought of a challenge.
« on: February 19, 2011, 12:04:44 am »
I didn't do much as myself. I made sure to be as reckless and psychotic as possible (this is the you challenge after all). I was tasked with killing a creature of the night husband. I found my way into his lair and threw my sword at him, hitting him in the chest and tearing the muscle. I grabbed him by the throat and strangled him, grabbing my blade after he had passed out and jamming it through his skull. Then it was on to a bandit camp! I was not only prepared for my death, I was looking forward to it. The first bandit I laid eyes on was skewered by my thrown blade, she rushed me, I grabbed her spear, yanking it from her grasp and stabbing her in the throat. I went onto the next rogue, leaving her to bleed to death. On my way I grabbed a shield, blocking the archer's arrows as I charged him. I neared and bashed him in the head with my shield, knocking him over. I gained his quiver, beating him with it until he was so battered that he couldn't hold it any more. I grabbed his bow and shot him in the head, the first shot didn't kill him, but the second to the heart did. Then the boss stood before me, letting loose entire volleys of arrows. I managed to either dodge or block most of them, but one found it's way into my chest, tearing my lung. I realized that I had already lost, and ran towards her, throwing my bow, quiver, shield, and armor at her. She ended up with battered legs and a fractured skull, but managed to hit me in the head, downing me.

Better than some of the other adventures I've had.
