I tried to create a new world and it just crashes at Finalizing Entities every time. It did this on the previous version too. I tried turning some mods off but, it's still going down. Any ideas?
In the first release the Fortress Defense races were broken; in 1.01 that is fixed. I had no other reports of issues in world generation or entities. Try genning a world with fortress defense races disabled. If that does not help, disable even more races in the gui.

But really, there should be nothing wrong with the entities if you are using 1.01.

I got it working. I just erased all the DF stuff and started over. I had the newest version, just downloaded today but something must've gotten corrupted. Thanks for your time!

In DT there are tabs across the top (Labors, etc.) One of the tabs is "Animals." If you click that tab it shows you the animals including pets. You can also select butchering from here (even pets, though, it will make unhappy dwarves.)

There isn't a bridge yet.

They won't pick them up actually. This is the very beginning of a fort, nothing has been accomplished except un-pausing the game and designating trees.

I have 2 proficient woodcutters, 2 copper chopping axes, and no logs. I've designated the logs to be cut, the axes aren't forbidden, the woodcutting labor is assigned, the woodcutters have no job. I activated everyone as a woodcutter then and still no one wants to chop wood. Help?

I personally don't assign pets of any variety. I usually have sheep, dogs, and cats running around. Maybe some birds. I cage what doesn't graze, whoever brings a pet can have it but, if it is a grazer then it will go to pasture. I assign war dogs to 10 of my military and anyone legendary that is worth keeping alive and has to go outside for any reason. I don't notice a difference in thoughts from migrants who have pastured pets vs having the pet follow them.

I am not sure what is happening, however, if you use Dwarf Therapist and go to the Animals tab you can set the dog to be butchered even if it is a pet. That may help save your expedition leader. Your broker might get mad but, he might not tantrum. Good luck.

Atazs: You can't have that happen during an alert. You can, however, assign the dwarves to those burrows normally in the burrow menu but then, they will always go there.

I'm pretty sure barreled-blood is counted as an extract.

But... why would you want to stockpile blood?
It's practically useless unless you've got some mod to change that.

I use Masterwork so...blood can be used to appease Armok in that mod  :D

I have some barrels of blood that I would like to make a stockpile for. I cannot find blood as an option in the custom stockpile settings. Where would it be found?

Is anyone using seedwatch successfully in the new version? If I type "seedwatch all 30" it just shows the seedwatch menu again. It doesn't start or accept any commands, just the menu over and over no matter what is typed.

Not sure how to reinjure him honestly. No need for a crutch, all he has are chest wounds. I tried the floor tile building and they went ahead and built right under him. Zoning didn't help either. Gah, now he is hungry too. This is going to be such a tantrum spiral. Any ideas for injuring?

I have a dwarf who was injured in a battle with a thief. I didn't notice him immediately but, found him later in his room getting water and food from friendly dwarves. I quickly made a hospital and removed his bed out from under him so he could be moved. Now he is lying on the floor resting, no one is going to pick him up. He's also dehydrated but, since he doesn't wake up, won't move for his own drink. His status also doesn't say anything but dehydrated anymore. So, he must not be as injured as he was. This has the downside of meaning no one will bring him water or take him to the hospital. So, I've got an unconscious thirsty dwarf that no one will help. Ideas?
