So...

I tried these steps to play Masterwork on 34.11 but it seems I entered the Twilight Zone on LSD. Marvel at the psychedelia of the hamlet, Swelterbejeweled:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The coloured squares seem to be occupied by quadrillions of rapidly changing "furrowed" stuff; furrowed silver, furrowed troll (female) etc. I suppose there are still some problems with a direct port to 34.11. I'll wait for the grandmasters then.

To make matters weirder, the road is made up of "petrification spell"  :o

What the hell was in that Fire Snake extract? Drugs may look like !fun!, kids, but it messes with your mind.

I got something very similar in fortress mode. Only, it isn't so close together. I have a lot of normal spaces between the weird...furrowed things. It's like every thing ever thought of that could possibly be organic or inorganic has decided to furrow. I still want to play so badly though and no updates to the utilities are in site....now, let's see what happens when I dig there. !Fun!

Edit: Aww, no !Fun! for me. The area doesn't allow anything to be added to an embark that wasn't already there. I either use a blank embark and hope for the best or a premade embark but, it takes out the axes, picks, and plump helmets. Guess it's back to 34.10 for me for now.

I already know it's wrong since it doesn't work. I just don't know how it is wrong.

Well, that helps me know what tag I need. I looked at the ostrich but, I don't know how to change it to suit my needs. Like I said, I have NEVER modded dwarf fortress and all of these tags are just confusing. Here is what I did to my turkeys but, they still aren't giving yarn cloth.

Code: [Select]
[BODY_APPEARANCE_MODIFIER:BROADNESS:90:95:98:100:102:105:110]

This is going to sound silly. I have no clue how to mod anything in Dwarf Fortress. However, I am in a position where I would like to make turkeys drop yarn cloth when butchered. Or, if they can't drop cloth, normal yarn would be very acceptable. I am just not sure how to add this in. Will I need to generate a new world after adding? Thanks for the help.

I have not forgotten. My computer has merely forgotten that I use it. After my blue screen of fun, it kept happening. I'm a bit computer savvy and it is now back in action (for the time.) I'm working on battles now and saving every 15 minutes! Wish me luck.

Also, do NOT start a stupid flame war in this thread. I will not tolerate it.

My comp just had the most beautiful crash, blue screen and all. Guess what I was doing? Yep. And I had just finished typing the last battle. Guess what didn't save? Yep, 2 hours of work. Sigh. This is the curse of not saving a file every 15 minutes. Bedtime for me here, I am apologetic but, nothing I can do about it. I will definitely work to get in the battles tomorrow. And yeah, there is a lot. So, it'll be worth the time. This will give a few people time to fix their new characters (those that overspent).

Can I get in on this?
I'm going with 2-weapon fighting style and a focus on parrying/dodging  :)

Quote

Name: Zoro
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Weapon 1: Iron Longsword (85g)
Weapon 2: Iron Longsword (85g)

Armor: Bronze Helm (35g)
Armor: Bronze Leggings (35g)
Armor: Bronze Low Boots (35g)

Skill(s):
Sword: 6 points (190g)
Dodge: 3 points (90g)

AG Total: 500

edit: this setup beats human4 in a 10v10 test :)

You are over by 55 AG. Changes?

wheres that battle not to be mean but i put up a battles daily till work started so PUT UP DA BATTLES

I go to school full-time, about the same amount of time as a person normally works not to mention study hours. Don't worry, Mondays will be battle days. I'm a busy chick with a lot of real life. Give me a break. If you really want, just open your thread again and I'll run mine on my terms.

@hitty40: I'm not ignoring your character sheet but...I am. If you really want to be played then feel free to post with the correct stuff.

@Everyone else: Thanks for patience. I am not planning on turning this into a full-time hobby, Mondays are battle days, you will get battles. If I seem "rude" I don't mean to, I am just short and to the point. Thanks!

6/18/2011 - Changed ALL of the weapons prices on their highest metals to 250 AG. No one will have to recalculate if they picked a silver or adamantine weapon before this post.

My idea on keeping adamantine low (but not too low) was that you'd almost have to spend all of your points on just the adamantine piece, leaving very little for armor and skills over 5. I do see the issue here though and adamantine will be raised. Anyone who chose adamantine anything before this post can keep what they have (though, I may have to pit you against NPCs for the time being.)

@Person: You are absolutely right. 8) Let's hope others notice that.

@Everyone else: Anyone can join at any time. There will probably not be a new battle post before 12AM PST today. If anyone ever has a suggestion, please make it. Copper armor will not be instituted.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Final Kill Counts:
Human 4: 4 final blows
Dwarf 2: 2 final blows
Human 3: 1 final blow
Human 2: 1 final blow

AG is awarded based on a few factors. How many final blows were dealt, victories, how long it took to die, whether your character participated, etc. There are also a couple of modifiers in place to keep it fair so that characters who really didn't stand a chance get a bit more and characters who did insanely well get a bit less. Even the one who died first and made no kills will be given something. AG is updated on the first page under gladiators. Thanks for playing! If you have enough, you may upgrade skills/weapons/armor.

!!NOTE!!
If you are upgrading weapons/armor I will buy back a previous weapon/armor for 5 AG (no matter the quality). So, please factor this into your upgrades.

Race: Human (would like to call it The Black Mist if possible)
Gender: Male
Weapon: Steel Short Sword (135 AG)
Armor: Bronze Helm (35 AG), Bronze Breastplate (55 AG), Bronze Gauntlets (55 AG), Bronze Greaves (55 AG), Bronze High Boots (35 AG).
Skill(s): 4 points on Dodging (120 AG).
AG Total: 490 (10 AG remaining)

Edited due to miscalculations on my part.

You actually have 30 AG not 10. Bronze Gauntlets are 35 AG, not 55 AG.
