Huh, i've never had anything worse than skeletal giant capybaras (they are really mean though) happen to me in terrifying biomes. I guess my game's odd.

In other news, my three one-dorf-armies (two axes and one spear) prevailed against a double siege plus some ambushers.

Oh yeah. But hey, i had more armies than them, so their chances were slim. :P

Edit: This just in: One of my axe dorfs named his axe. The name? The Brilliant Disemboweler. FUCK. YEAH.

Who needs danger rooms when you can have an entire damn danger FORTRESS? Very effective for invaders too, since they'll start the day by getting poked in the lungs and kidneys.

The thing about copper is particularly notable; it's an extremely common metal, and it makes for better smashing than iron and steel (as of now, anyways). So if you have masses of copper, make masses of hammers or maces for your impromptu peasant militia, and save all the good stuff for armor and pokey-slicey weapons. In other words, have all your civilian dorfs carry a copper hammer for emergency debating of existence. Though that would also make your berserk dorfs much worse. Ehh.

In theory you could make the brain 'attack' much like you would a fist, you could even latch onto an enemy, but I'm not very good at making attacks from scratch  :-\
You would need to alter the brain body part as well in order to latch on.
Not necessarily, you can just slap the [CAN_LATCH] token on the attack. This would also let you punch your fist into peoples toes and tear them off. :P

Me: Goddamnit, the elves have wood again!
Room mate: this is a bad thing?
Bahaha, priceless. :D

I have yet to confuse any people in real life yet, but i have annoyed a chatroom i frequent with my incessant cacklingramblings. Annoyed and/or enthralled. It's surprising how many people are entertained by the stories of what you do. But now for an inverted confusion part: Since they're so used to my ramblings, one of them assumed i was talking DF when i was talking Minecraft. But hey, any confusion counts, right?

Well, one of my glacial forts has the mayor as one of the 3 remaining military dorfs (out of the original 8-dorf elite squad). She has (or rather, had) a child, which even survived an injury by invaders (while being a baby, but later got maced to death as a child), and is a legendary axedorf/fighter/shield user who habitually jumps into whole squads of white tigermen AND WINS. She also only makes mandates for bucklers (which i ignore blissfully), and remains ecstatic despite losing her child and being forced to sleep with all the other hobo-dorfs in the sleeping hall. So yeah, she's pretty great. And she has around a hundred kills, if i recall correctly.

They do, and i once found it useful in poking a hydra to death with my comrades. :P
It has the same stab values as a short sword in the raws, but given its greater size, it'll probably hit harder. I don't find an awful lot of useful halberds though, so i can't quite vouch for their performance. They're great in that an axe user gets a piercing attack, obviously.

Well i just walked around in a huge glass rainbow, so winning the argument is invalid because MY COLOR RECEPTORS HAVE BEEN RAPED.

In other news, hardcore transportation, Nighthawk. :D

That would be the FIFTH wall in this case, since there are four walls separating the panels..!::!.1

Pictured is a previous human adventurer, Heathre Binfondled. (Great name, I know :P).
She is drawn here as near exactly as she was described in game, straight down to my interpretation of her listed clothes.

You sharpen one rock...
... Down to a mono-molecular edge and throw it at relativistic velocities. Holy shit man. :P
Also, i like how they're both equally surprised by the happening. And the excellent drawings.

Oh yeah, you mentioned curving rocks?

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I believe it curved all the way around the planet! (or blatantly broke the fourth wall, whichever you prefer)

Clearly, axes suck because they're dorfy. This makes them harder to use properly, and harder to use is dorfier, right? (else i need an update)
Still, great research, relevant to the interests of many. I still favor axes though. :P (LIMBS GO FLYING)

850. You hear the word "Microcline" and you automatically go berserk with excitement.
Guilty, i saw a block of microcline in a museum in Norway and was like "omg microcline lol". Not so much berserk as geeking out, though. :P

Also, 858: You can stack an infinite amount of objects in your garbage bin. Or you try to, anyways.

We could always invade in an extremely chill manner, and thus converting people by being so chill that they want to be like us. Once they're interested, "play dorf fortress or i will chill so hard that you go into a coma." When faced with such a threat, anyone would oblige. They will refer to us as the chillwave of the 12th bay.

Or, my personal favourite, regale the possibilities of crushing invaders beneath the tremendous girth of your gigantic golden phallus. I have yet to catch anyone with this method, but mark my words, it will happen! There's bound to be someone out there who will be thrilled by the notion of actual e-peen usage.

That's why sleeping in the wilds isn't recommended at all. :P
Also, i had a glorious encounter with bogeymen, and the last kill happened like so:

I chopped that little fuck to so many pieces that it died before i was done chopping. Thank you, martial trance! Same adventurer then got his face caved in by an angry bandit leader. Balls.
