Mhm, the combinations make sense. I'm not entirely sure where an urchin would get paired blades from, but if they had a choice, it seems reasonable. :v

Yeah, I struggled with the lighting on the legs. Lots of things to work on for next time! :D

Her sword is supposed to be a little on the vague side. This is the Sunriser in-game:

I wanted to make her sword a little more defined, but also keep the grossly incandescent blade.
Ahhh right, i see. That bit worked then, although it could have done with some more brightness/gross incandescense/glow if it were to truly look like solidified praise sunlight. :v

Colours looking pretty good! Colour theory is a rabbit hole that never ends.
aaaaaaa thank, it's actually really tricky with Krita because the colour selection wheel doesn't match the usual colour wheel used for colour theory, and i've found no easy way to change that. O well lol, i'll learn eventually!

I uh, still need to get used to it. :v
also bonus drawpile with another person (known to me as "tipsy", her art-fu is stronk) who drew all the things that are not obviously drawn by me

This reminds me that we should get the bay12 drawpile going again at some point, it's good practice and good fun!

eeeeeeeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

i got a display tablet for giftmas

Now i just need the obligatory 1-2 weeks to actually get used to it, but so far i'm liking it. It even comes with a neat half-glove to avoid greasing up the screen with my greasy hand. :V

for a second i thought you said "praising sun" instead of "blazing sun" and was like "yes"

I promise i am not actually disappointed by the lack of praising, only theoretically. :v
Also you've done well with the second iteration! If anything, i'd say the armor could actually do with MORE shine. The chest guard and gauntlet are in the better end, but the rest kinda looks more like plastic. Also, i can't quite make sense of the weapon; which part is solid and which is just glorious sunflame? Gotta say though, i like the colour choices, i've always had a soft spot for vivid colours. c:

Speaking of colours, i've been doing a relatively minor amount of researching on colour theory, and decided to try picking some colours for the songsnek i posted earlier.

Not sure if better than usual, but at least it isn't horseshit. :P

well okay then let me sinfully punt some more activity into your collective faces

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

This challenge made me want to actually learn some colour theory, since good colours apparently let me just do swishy swirly things and have them look pleasing. :V (also blank template if you want to try your hand as well)

Congrats for attracting losers finally!
Ohhhhh i could make such a harsh joke now, but that'd be a bit uncalled for. Instead, MUCH THANK. c:

Don't forget his reversed twin, SUPER BUUB!

Also today i got my very first random hate comment on DeviantArt, which is an important milestone for every budding art fart. Alas, mine is of low quality. I've been tempted to poke the poor creature, but i'm not quite ready for the responsibility of having a pet hissing cockroach. :v

I don't do much smudging so i can't offer any input here, so i'm just gonna do what i normally do and post something relatively nonsequitur.

Ok so, i wasn't entirely sure where to put this, but i happened upon this song recently (which is an awesome one, if you ask me), and it struck me that the short section at 1:07 sounds VERY similar to a song i heard (and actually enjoyed) in the radio when i was a school kid. So my question is: Does anyone remember what the fuck that song is called? It might have been by Black Eyed Peas or some similar group, but i'm not sure. I'm at a complete loss for what to actually search for to locate it myself; the most i remember (besides the music itself) is that the music video had the female lead singer climbing up the side of a building via... Braids, i think? Don't know if that helps.

Edit: Oop, found it! The Sweet Escape by Gwen Stefani. Who'd have thunk? :V

Eyyyyyyyy not bad! The one thing i notice the most is that the nose bridge seems kinda broad, though that could also just be the reference, iunno. Also, eyes seem too wide set (there's more than one eye width in between them), a bit too much for it to just be the reference, though i am well aware that eye spacing varies on actual human faces.

DAT Knight. Just oozes attitude, I like! Got any more like it?
THANK

Alas, i don't often draw full plate armor; i think the only other one that counts would be this, although this dinoguardbro is also pretty armoured, and then there's this doodle from two years ago that i never posted because i wasn't happy with it. Besides those, not really. :v

Not bad at all.
A few things you might want to consider are (Minor details, that said) :
 - tightening the breastplate around the waist a little bit (and maybe adding a belt?)
 - compressing the fauld (hip piece) so it reacts better to his leg (those things are made to be flexible, might as well take advantage of it)
 - either flaring the cuffs of the gauntlets out even more (if you want hourglass-style gauntlets), or tightening them completely (if you want more of a Gothic style)
 - lengthening the blade (or shortening the handle). Right now, you have an arming sword-length blade on a longsword-length hilt
 - having the mail gorget fall over the breastplate instead of under (or a plate gorget)
 - adding projections on the outer sides of the poleyns (knee protection) and on both sides of the couters (elbow protection)

If you want some references, Knyght Errant has a pretty good late 14th-early 15th century suit of armour and has made an extensive set of videos about it (and some other styles, notably in the helmet department) over on youtube

Other than that, pretty good :)
AAA FEEDBACK, VERY THANK

I almost figured that someone who actually knew about armour would come along eventually, because as you've probably already guessed, i know jack shit about the finer details of it. Very helpful notes, i'll definitely keep those in mind next time i draw a(n edgy) knight. c:

in the meantime, however, i maked a thing

Yeppppppppp, can confirm, i hate having to do large shadows with pencil. That said, you've done pretty well! One thing i'd personally (so don't take this as a must-do or anything) like to see is a bit more exaggeration on the facial expression(s); you're already stylizing things, so why not take advantage of it? :v

@Arx: Definite improvement, you've gotten much better at the subtleties (ESPECIALLY compared to the 2015 one). The previous ones kinda fall into the uncanny valley, this newest one... Doesn't! So that's good. c:

@Goatex: VERY GOOD, I LIKE MUCH

also edgy fuckin knight

Spoiler: drawn at night :^) (click to show/hide)

he so edgy he has a CLOAK and SCOWLING HELMET

Actually supposed to be mostly black for Lore Reasons(tm), but i'm not sure i can be arsed to do that due to aforementioned reasons. :v
