You could also aquifer-drain it via hatched staircase, so that when a seige comes you can close the hatches and the ocean will just refill itself.

I usually just dig out an underground plump helmet farm, build a still and designate a food pile, then start digging to magma and building to the sky for my megaprojects. None of them get very far, as it happens...

I recently learned that Runescape got a total graphics revamp (at least I last played five years ago). Should I jump back in, or is it still not really worth it?

I tried to drain an ocean just now. I dug down to stone and carved fortifications out to the map edge, just like I'm supposed to. Then, when I went to dig ramps up to the ocean floor, the game froze for a second and the pressure (I assume) flooded the cavern I made instantaneously, and I paused it right away when I got control back. I shall soon see if the poor miner survived...

My FPS is at about 1 right now, so I still don't know for sure if he's alive...

Goodness. He actually found it more convenient to swim up the ramp he dug and out of the ocean itself than to book it back to the tunnel they dug. Still drowned, though.

You know what takes longer to build than a pyramid? A dome. I've been trying to build a 100-tile diameter for four embarks now, and every time something else brings me to my doom. First I got bored, second time I accidentally freed the clowns, third time my file got deleted, and this most recent time I was taken out by a siege. This one really sucked, because I had a flatland with a volcano in the corner, with a gold road and the entire first level of my dome built, entirely in quartzite. They couldn't get in until a frigging cave crawler took out my only defense. I had 3 tamed harpies which also got killed by an FB named Cethutha.

I just learned how I'm going to make cave-in traps from now on... Floor grates don't support other constructions...but you can build in empty spaces next to them...
