See if you can mod in a custom workshop, call it a wall or something, and have it train your monk dwarves in the art of punching holes in walls. It can take hand to hand to "operate", and would also improve armor skills.

Actually, I know what this would do.
First, it would bomb your FPS from all the Gobbo pathing Errors.
Then it would slow down goblins (theoretically) down to about .5x speed. Possibly even stop them completely.
Due to the Goblin Pathing style of 'I wanna get there in the shortest possible time,' they'll go for the door when it's open. Flip the switch, and they'll stop for about one turn to re-path; only to discover the door's open again. So they'll path there. But before they can move, it closes, and they have to re-path. Rins&Repeat.

Then even the wimpiest marksdwarves can take them out with little to no problem whatsoever.

You could also use this to create impenetrable atom-smashing bridges to block off areas to all but monster-sized invaders.

The part of college that sucks is when I have 3 classes, one gets canceled, and I have 4 hours of nothing between the other two. It's still too early to get homework, so I just sat around playing my 3DS. For which, by the way, I am in the process of getting 20 free games just for owning it.

So, turns out Irene was downgraded to a Tropical Storm right before it hit us, which is probably why I slept through the actual storm. We just got power back last night, though, so I still "suffered".

That is most dwarfy. Also dwarfy is the fact that my first week of College follows directly after Hurricane Isabelle, which should hit us some time tomorrow.
