Gotta go with Terenos there. As much as we all want the game to move forward, we gotta stick to the rules or there is no game.

Meh. Gotta job interview and then I need to pick up a couple of books from my professor. The usual beginning of academic year.

To be honest, I'm surprised that this has been going on for as long as it has been. Its been fun so far, I don't see why it shouldn't keep on going, unless we get a real attendance problem. We got pretty sweet (if slightly demanding of our GM) rules, we got the world and we got the plot(s) in place.

E: I hope that Erik will think positively of my propoal. I'm a lowly (although quite wealthy by now) merchant, and a king in his situation could use a shrewd man who knows his way with coin...

But if I were to strike it alone, i still would get 4d of yearly income for the independent guild/company?

I'm just wondering, would it be possible to open my own trade company and still remain a member of SCGT? Is it possible to become an affiliated business of sorts or is it complete independence when Erik will support me? SCTG doesn't know about my behind the scenes manouvers(or so I think), so they can't really do anything to me. I just don't know how would they take to a trader running his own sideshow. I guess it depends whether you call it a Guild or Company. Guild is an association, company is an economic entity. Guild usually grouped small trades together for protection and support, while companies are usually one or two big traders out in for investments and profit.

Here though SCTG has the characteristics of Hanseatic League, which in a way is sitting between the two. The thing is, I am not collecting trades together and handing out credit, but aiming more for an independent, corporation-like entity. In the end though, historically a company(like the East Indian ones) was an evolution of trade guild when it simpy ceased to be a form of trade association but an organisation interested in investment and pooling of resources. So you might say that I will be the first to make this historical move transition (provided Erik supports me.)

Well, what you do with your time is not my thing. Besides, you are not obliged to do these things. You volunteered yourself.

Lemme guess from the exclamations of by the Cycle, that the main characther A.turns into a malevolent dictator, B. Kills a whole bunch of people or commits an atrocity, C. Marries his sister, D.Becomes an egomaniac, E. is heroic but dies young, F. Ushers in a golden era.

Which one is correct?

Ain't gonna spoil it. besides none of those fit exactly with Jamie. You will seriously have to read the books if you wantto know.

Yoink: its actually Follett. double t and double l. I got the book on my shelf, still didn't read it, but my mum loved it. Also got World Without End.

And if anyone looks for PC shenaningans, you need to read Flashman series.

As in a third of the plot/things related to the plot. Beyond that, its a great series.
Found the first book in my local library actually. Got sucked in pretty quickly and went through them all.

If you want to get into the entire Medieval/fantasy politics and atmosphere, this series will do you well. A lot of memorable characters, memorable scenes and the plot itself is pretty good, since you don't expect that most things will go the way they go.

I hope you were after the dashing physical looks and nothing else. Funny how the sword hand thing got mixed into it, making Erik look even more like him.

Erik is unmarried and very posessive over his sister.... :o
I just realized that somebody could easily write a badfanfic about this...

CG: with respect to the MMO side of things, as much as any automatisation of tasks would help, you are right: things like corpse weapons or actions that are usually a staple of most RP posts are not easy to turn into algorithms. Besides, its only trade that causes most problems, so if any stuff like taxation, colonization and mathematically definable varialbes could be pinned under that then we could do mor proper RP'ing.

And the royal situation seems weird to me. A king is unmarried and his sister too? Seriously? We had eccentric monarchs in almost every country, but unmarried kings were usually the ones that caused most problems, because of heir (or lack of thereof). Not forcing anything here though. If you see it fit, keep it that way. Just don't be surprised when the country is partitioned between Trubaldsome, Manskinner and other nasty fellows and barons if the royal dynasty dies out. Not to say that it would be a lot of fun :P

I never thought that people might want to go full multiplayer with this. But how would you go about executing such idea?
I say, let Iituem and others sort their stuff out and then we might think about other things. Real life should always be a priority.
